This one is killing me, and I'm usually pretty patient with recruitment stories.

I'm interested, but I'm also annoyed because this one could have been finished up with the last post.
See: The next day I did/did not get a bid to the colonizing chapter. I'm now thrilled to be/sad not to be a new member of ABC!!!! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of my new sisters OR I'm going to try again with informal/COB next semester OR SCREW YOU GUYS, I'M GOING HOME!" |

She probably got a bid to that colony because she continued to post. The end. : ). Now we can worry about ebola, party decor gone wrong at USC and throwing what you know. : )
One (post) and done! : ) |

Okay. So, congratulations and glad you found your home at that school near a certain mountain range.

And she continues to post, which isn't typical unless someone is conducting a retrospective of what might have gone awry.
|
Actually, the ending can be a bit clever: WE ARE P____ S____. : )

Anyway, I appreciate dramatic build up and would like to read what happened! Please post that!!! :) |

per say is two separate words. If you came here to post that, you could finish your story and gain a lot of new friends. Right now you're squarely in the "annoyed" corner. Get yourself out of it, and disprove the AW title. |

There was another thread where we talked about it, and I thought it was pretty much agreed that it was cruel and nobody does this. If some groups do, I stand corrected. |
I wanted time to write out a full response but I guess I'll tell you I did get a bid! Some of my friends didn't though.

And OP - you're either a member of the chapter we all know just colonized with 200 members at a school with 17 chapters, or you're not. I assume congrats are in order. ETA: congrats! Feel free to finish up your story in your style - we'll still read it ;) So you had friends invited to pref who didn't get bids? That seems a bit unusual in colonization processes. |

There are always reasons why a bid is not issued after pref. Colonizations are no different. I don't even care if she got a bid, I'm having way more fun with all the PMs and side convos and messages. :D |

We picked up envelopes the next day at the Student Union that had either a bid or a regret card. (That was 20 years ago, though.)

Oh sweet baby jebus, post the ending already. You may think you are being coy and adding tension, but you are just being annoying at this point. This is a completed recruitment not a live action thriller. I never guess the school and chapter so for the love of all things fattening, someone PM me so I can ignore this thread.

Please see post #52. : )
And, no, P ___ S ____ does not stand for pink sequins. |
She went through last year as a sophomore; she herself linked to the thread she wrote about her unsuccessful recruitment. Now she is a junior at the same school (and she used pretty much the same theme this year as last year) and because she dragged this out so long, it's fallen flat and is probably going to be linked in the future as an example of how not to write a recruitment thread. Too bad so sad.

Blahzey blahzey blah. Congrats on your bid to Phi Sigma Sigma at Penn State, OP. Moving on...
|
Spot-on AZTheta: the first rule of writing and speeches and marketing is to know your audience!
|
I sincerely hope that the OP will wrap this up, rather than let everything hang.
I also hope that everyone realizes that a recruitment story that is posted over a month becomes more of a tease than a story. |

The fact that she was so set on placing each sorority into tiers as she talked about their importance made me thankful my sorority did not get her. It's almost weird that someone so concerned about rankings/ tiers would go for a new organization on campus. I also love how she felt the need to point out the Jewish sorority on campus as that was a problem for her. I mean, there is only one Jewish sorority on that campus so, way to go. When she sees how much work actually goes into making a chapter successful, I'm wondering if she will stick around. I mean, I get the impression that a letter t-shirt means way more to her than actual sisterhood.
