My badge is on! I posted a selfie on my FB page, but I probably should take it down. I look a little cranky in my quill :)

AGDAlum 03-03-2014 02:05 PM

I'm wearing mine!

misscherrypie 03-03-2014 02:39 PM

I'm wearing my Full-Jeweled Beta badge today!

DeltaBetaBaby 03-03-2014 02:45 PM

I really wish NPC would reach out to NPHC (and other councils?) and make it a combined sorority badge day. Unless NPHC members don't wear their badges in this manner, so correct me if that's the case, but it would cool to see the unity.

WCsweet<3 03-03-2014 02:46 PM

Wearing my full pearl that I saved from that one site. I can't for the life of me get it straight!

AlwaysSAI 03-03-2014 03:07 PM

I wore by AGD badge to work this morning. We were sent home at 12:30pm due to possible inclement weather, so I'll spend the rest of the afternoon rocking it while I study.

flirt5721 03-03-2014 03:10 PM

My badge is on. I'm all dressed up at the DMV.

I agree. I'd extend even further to our NALFO friends.

I can only speak for SGRho, but we have guidelines around what we wear our badge/official pin with, just like many of you all have badge attire.

Lots of my Sorors are participating today under the hashtag #SGRhoProud (though I saw many NPC ladies using #badgeday14)

Cheerio 03-03-2014 03:29 PM

Been to a few stores today; so far no women wearing their NPC badges but still half a day to go!

AOIILisa 03-03-2014 03:41 PM

I'm wearing my alternating ruby and pearl O badge today - no snow day after all!

ninah 03-03-2014 03:58 PM

Wearing mine with Rose and White ribbon underneath and my new badge dangle!

gatordeltapgh 03-03-2014 04:13 PM

If you are"going" to the FB "event" you probably have seen these but I thought I'd share. Wonderful photos from all groups

I'm not at home and forgot to bring my other pin but, on the FB event I posted our beautiful badge. :)

*stealing hashtag* :)

I wore the stars and crescent with badge ski attire today.

joliebelle 03-03-2014 07:39 PM

Wore my one and only badge today :)
I was planning on wearing a skirt today, but it decided to snow this weekend. So many beautiful badges on the FB event wall.

Anyone know who is in charge on the NPC side? I'd like to send an email actually suggesting this.

I'm pretty sure the NPC office is reaching out to all groups, but maybe a better job could be done w the promotion?

From FB event - International Badge Day was established in 1997 by the National Panhellenic Conference to set aside a day for women -- in sororities in all different umbrella organizations -- throughout the world to wear their sorority badges or Greek letters in a celebration of sisterhood.

From the NPC materials online, no password needed. From the FAQ
Q: Who participates in International Badge Day?
A: This is the fifth year that we’re celebrating diversity and our common sorority experience. In the spirit of global interfraternal relations, NPC invites the National Pan-Hellenic Council Inc., the National Multicultural Greek Council, the National Asian Pacific Islander American Panhellenic Association and the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations Inc. to participate.

tld221 03-03-2014 10:31 PM

We received organization-wide communication about participating this year, maybe 2 weeks ago? I'm not sure if that's our leadership being proactive in participating, or a conversation between councils, because I didn't see any other NPHC Sororities participating.

I will say, I liked being able to see different organizations post their badges on the FB group. Maybe more council participation will encourage a "lifetime commitment" culture that's often discussed being lacked amongst many alumna NPC members.

Would love to see that happen.

Grand Total Greek Letters Observed on Badge Day:

ONE BADGE (Kappa Kappa Gamma). I thanked the young woman for proudly wearing her key.

Also observed one Alpha Phi and one Alpha Omicron Pi car sticker, and one Lambda Chi Alpha shirt.

So if you're an NPC Greek and caught me glancing at the neck/chest area of your badge attire, and you were not wearing your NPC badge, hope to catch you wearing it SOON because I love seeing them in person!

I saw no badges, and I even attended chapter for the group I advise (saw lots of letters though). Maybe now it's not a thing for collegians to wear their badges except for chapter events? I wore mine all the time in college and so did most of the sorority women I knew, but back when when I was in school, we didn't wear sweats to class so there was more of a chance of your attire being badge attire.

I think that's the issue. No one's wearing badge attire to class anymore, so badges aren't getting worn outside of formal chapter meetings.
