Let's see, since I first joined GC way back in Feb 2002 (like lauralaylin, posting gave me my join date!) I've had two sons go off to college. One joined Lambda Chi Alpha and he's serving on their undergrad student advisory committee, the other chose not to go Greek. Youngest is a HS senior now deciding when he's going to college in a year--eldest brother hopes they may be Fraternity brothers one day. I've served AOII in a variety of local and international network positions, and currently serving as an alumnae chapter and Alumnae Panhellenic officer. Yeah, membership really is for a lifetime!

Apparently I'm one week away from my 10 year GC anniversary. Freaky.

tld221 08-14-2013 12:41 AM

It HAS been almost 10 years on here.

I think I got here after months of lurking the interwebs for information on being Greek. Remember when Yahoo Answers, Angelfire/Tripod/Geocities pages reigned supreme?

Otherwise, KSUViolet summed up a lot of my feelings. Is it time to e-dust
Off retro recruitment threads again?

Too much to even begin to mention. I joined this site as a teenager and now I'm in my 30's....

Busy with a law practice and busy being Chapter Adviser and coordinating our advisory board. I helped start the chapter, now I'm part of its institutional memory. My first few posts on here were about finally getting our charter.

SAEalumnus 08-14-2013 01:16 AM

March 2001, mostly lurking and banning spam accounts anymore.

Beryana 08-14-2013 04:54 AM

June 2000 here. Wow! Now I mostly read/lurk rather than post, but still around.

naraht 08-14-2013 10:30 AM

April 2001 for me...

aggieAXO 08-14-2013 05:20 PM

Hello:) I read GC all of the time but rarely post.

TSteven 08-14-2013 05:46 PM

According to my statistics, I joined on February 3, 2004. This was after lurking here for a while.

And sometimes I still feel like a newbie.

AOX81 08-14-2013 06:00 PM

January 2001. Where has the time gone???

adpiucf 08-14-2013 08:14 PM

I also joined in 2002.

33girl 08-14-2013 11:56 PM

I've been here a minute. :)

PhoenixAzul 08-15-2013 06:57 AM

I joined right after I became an active (I think?) so that had to be Spring of 2004.

AAAAnnnnddd now I feel old.
Thanks, internet.

AlphaFrog 08-15-2013 07:45 AM

2002.

Pledged. Had my chapter closed. Married/baby, baby #2 - they're now going into 1st & 3rd grade. And now....the first major job change of my adult life. I do feel like I grew up on GC.

I go through spells when I post a lot, and some when I don't stop by GC for awhile. I have a feeling with the new job, visits may become less frequent for awhile.

I really don't post much anymore since I'm admittedly not too involved with the Greek world anymore. I'm not really able to add much to the conversation when it comes to recruitment, events, alumni stuff, etc. I also work during the weekdays and my job keeps me way too busy to post on GC. When I'm home, I spend most of my time with my husband and my toddler son. I've got another little one on the way.

SigKapSweetie 08-18-2013 02:38 PM

I mostly lurk now...joined GC as a freshman/new member in Fall '01. Hard to believe it's been 12 years!

Sister Havana 08-18-2013 11:34 PM

It'll be 10 years for me this year. I'm around, but I am much more of a lurker these days.

chiojes 08-26-2013 04:50 PM

I've been here since 2003 but mostly a lurker in my collegiate years. Am on it a bit more now as I get more involved in alumnae activities.

Benzgirl 08-26-2013 07:09 PM

I've only been around 6 years. I'm a mere baby.

ForeverRoses 08-26-2013 08:19 PM

I've been here for a bit, and had two kids since I joined. I don't post very often anymore, but I'm a recruitment junkie, so I love lurking during recruitment season!

thetygerlily 08-27-2013 12:04 AM

2003, but I think I started lurking in 2002 when I initiated. Like many here, I rarely post but go in waves. I'm not even up to date on the badge trends thread anymore :o

BBelleADPi 08-27-2013 08:45 AM

2005. I mainly visit GC during recruitment season, then wander off. But I definitely have to check in every once in awhile. The drama seems to have died down in the past several years, I guess due to lack of infiltrators, impersonators, and the Great Alumnae Initiate debate having been taken care of. No cat suits, no sequined panty hose, no "but there was this thing...", no twins. Sadness.

AGDAlum 08-27-2013 04:23 PM

I joined GC in October, 2000.

I can't recall how I found the group, but it wasn't long before I realized that Carnation was a long-time friend of mine (we met in 1978 or thereabouts).

When did GC start? I figure that true GC Old Age is when PNMs were born the year that I joined.

Rio_Kohitsuji 09-03-2013 07:35 PM

I've been here since 2002...and now back again. :)

I have two nieces going through rush (Kent State and Ohio U) so I have to get back on the info!
