I just watched Les Miserables on a plane last week, and hated it. It was sooooo boring. I never liked the musical, but I thought the movie would be entertaining enough for a flight. Nope.

My big one (there's just SO many!) is Out of Africa. Maybe it redeems itself in the second half, but since we walked out at the intermission, I'll never know.
A lot of the movies mentioned are in the category of you either love it or hate it. My DH & I found our first link because we both absolutely love Slap Shot! |
JUNO. So overhyped for me. I don't think I would have liked it even without the hype but I was just so underwhelmed.
Whoever said Atonement---did they change it for the movie? The book wasn't a dream and was pretty good I thought (but I read it on vacation, and I have a much higher tolerance then) Everyone's going to hate me for this, but: Star Wars (watched it/them at age 5 was terrified of the Ewoks [I KNOW. I was a fraidy cat kid] and didn't see it again 'til I was in college at which point I knew the whole story and was underwhelmed by the acting/effects) (I just. don't. get it) (if my bf and I ever break up, this might be why) |
Glengarry Glen Ross

I think the only reason some one would KILL you is for calling "Empire Strikes Back" "Star Wars". That's the most hated of the three original movies, because of those Ewoks, and a Star Wars fanatic will tell you there IS a distinction. I personally loved Empire, but I was 9 when it came out, and I got an audio tape of the movie for Christmas that I listened to all the time. The movies have not aged well, IMHO, and I can't stand the new ones. |

I hated the movie "plot line" that consisted of making sure the kid had his train ticket. As if Santa would throw someone off the train or out of the North Pole because of a lost ticket. Some books just can't be stretched to movie length. |

I also yawned at Rushmore. It was disappointing. |

I liked Patrick Swayze but I can't think of any movie of his that I liked. Including Ghost which was just stupid. |
Kristen Stewart is a mouth-breather and I can not stand to look at her. I just want her to close her mouth, PLEASE, and breath through her nostrils like a normal person. Ugh.
Just ugh. |

Someone told me Ted was an excellent movie, but I hated it.

Meanwhile, I have to add Donnie Darko to the list of well-liked films that I just don't get. I've tried to watch it three times and I just can't do it. Maybe it gets better towards the end? |
