ditto. MysticCat. I wasn't going to remark on that because I get flamed enough for being a grammar policewoman around here. Oh well.

sigh.

My Panhellenic sources said that letters/references/recommendations from ADPi Alumnae should be sent to the following address:

Alpha Delta Pi Executive Office
1386 Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE
Atlanta, Georgia 3030

*******

And there are still no definite dates for recruitment yet.

Thanks for this information MP! I have been waiting for confirmation so I can set my schedule to visit. Do you have the breakdown for which rounds of parties on which days yet?

Looking forward to the added dynamic of ADPi colonizing on this campus. Everyone at Ole Miss seems excited about adding another chapter!

You are welcome! No details yet. I'm astounded they have waited so late to give us this much, but then the Greek Life Office lost a staff member and so they have been having to do interviews.

Truly, I was glad of the dates, since I have to book my schedule time way ahead, as do others of course.

Fall Wardrobe Tip for incoming Freshman and Transfers: Rebels Fans are requested to wear red, blue, or white for home games as a demonstration of Rebel fan spirit. The Athletic Department will publish a calender indicating which color is preferred for a particular game. It's meant to help distinguish us from the opposition and intimidate the other team. As you shop for your Fall wardrobe, be sure to pick up cute dresses in these three school colors as well as attractive boots that can handle mud/water for The Grove. I have even seen young women wearing classy rain boots with their ensembles.

No, just the earlier pre-Labor Day games. I think it's neat that they let us know what color will best support our team. Now I gotta go listen to Ole Miss play LaSalle. Fins up, Landsharks!

Hi there- We are new to Ole Miss, my daughter will be a freshman from out of state...
we are working on recs etc now. Is it best to submit the rec packets before the recruitment chairman is out of school for the summer? Thanks for your help and any advice is welcomed and appreciated!

From only the perspective of my own Chapter, we appreciate getting the information as early as possible because there are such a large number of PNM's in recruitment each Fall. Thankfully advancements in electronic submission of recs is beginning to make things much easier. All of the PNM lists are electronic now, and paper recs have to be input into the computer one by one. Also most, if not all, of the Chapters at Ole Miss have already begun Recruitment Workshops at this time. It's Spring Practice like for Football ;) So yes, I would work on having those recs come on in to the Chapters.

newtoolemiss 03-26-2013 03:53 PM

will do...thanks for your help

You should ask your writers to send them in at their earliest convenience or now. There are only about 5-6 weeks of the Spring Semester left. If you want to provide a pre-stamped pre-addressed envelope to the your writers, please do so.

I have nothing to add about Ole Miss Recruitment, but surprised that you aren't going with navy against Texas, especially given that it is in Austin. Very odd.

It looks like they wanted to have six chances for each color and wanted to be 100% SURE that everyone had their blue dresses clean for the game against BAMA. :D

Perhaps you're on to something.

Titchou 04-15-2013 03:40 PM

Texas' color is burnt orange not red.

MaryPoppins 04-15-2013 03:42 PM

Part of it is we just got brand spanking new uniforms from the Nike NFL Uniform Line. Our Rebels will be styling and profiling. And our Athletic Department wants the fans to have an opportunity to match.

Yes, we know.

In stadium shots red and burnt orange will blend somewhat, whereas navy would definitely stand out as "we are Ole Miss fans."

When Texas and OU play, you can see the difference, but that is helped by the fact that it is a 50 yard line split and that OU is more crimson than red. When fans are intermingled, it just seemed surprising to pick a color that is within a few shades of the home team when a completely contrasting color was available.

Titchou 04-15-2013 09:19 PM

I think the burnt orange doesn't even come close to red. To me it is a stark difference - tons of brown in the orange and the Ole Miss red is more of a true red.

I'm just so glad to see how supportive the Panhellenic community is of ADPi . Alpha Phi is scheduled to colonize in 2015, and I was worried about how a new chapter would be received. Now I'm more excited than ever that we get to be part of such a great system. ( Still trying to wrap my mind around the size of those new member classes!)
