B Phi A

Beta Phi Alpha was started in 1994 and has 5 chapters, also some Alumn chapters are about to get established. We already have a national board, but are not under the IFC or NPHC. But I would bet anything our governing board is much more strict.

Congrats! That is so cool. Are you a chapter founder?

Thanks!

Thank you everybody! It was a long journey, but well worth it! We were lucky to have half of our Most Honorable Founding Mothers present this time around and they had nothing but beautiful words for us. Everybody made us feel so special! I could have stayed forever.

BTW, Prospectiverushee, YES, I am a Founder. Wonderful experience!

Omega Delta Phi began in 1987 at Texas Tech University, and has grown to over well 40 chapters, colonies, and clubs spread all over (Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, California, Mexico).

Pretty good for only 15 years :)

Our nationals is working hard to keep expanding!

oh yeah, our chapters are all pretty much Midwest... two in Wisconsin, Chicago, Detroit, us in Michigan, and the other colony in Iowa.

I'm happy to say that since this was posted, Kappa Beta Gamma has grown! We currently have 7 active chapters, including mine, Nu Chapter, which was just installed as a chapter last weekend. We're from Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA, so Kappa is on the East Coast now too!

Congratulations, KappaSunshine (I love your screen name, by the way). I'm glad to hear that your sisterhood is growing. I'm afraid I don't know much about Kappa Beta Gamma. Is there a website? Well...I guess I could search myself:p

Yes, it's www.kappabetagamma.org. Thanks for your congrats :)

Hey, KappaSunshine -

Congratulations on your charter! My mom was a Kappa at Loyola-Chicago in the early '60's! She used to sing me Kappa songs as lullabies, and the songs and all of her stories helped convince me to go through rush. She now sings them to her grandbabies, so maybe one of them will follow in her footsteps!

One that I haven't heard mentioned that is pretty big on my campus is Kappa Delta Chi.

It is a National Latina Sorority with 30 chapters (mostly in Texas and the southwest). I know they were founded in 1987, their colors are pink and maroon, and their mascot is the penguin.

All of their members I have ever met are wonderful women!

Just so you know, the link doesn't work with the comma in it. Where do you have chapters?

MTSUGURL 12-07-2005 06:50 PM

It's on their website - just take the comma out.

It's grown really quickly - I'm kind of surprised I've not heard more about it here.

preciousjeni 12-07-2005 08:10 PM

I believe I recall hearing quite a bit about this sorority in the not-too-distant past.

Does anyone else remember or am I imagining it?

Okay, so we may not be classified as 'up and coming' because we've grown so fast so quickly and are incorporated. Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. Founded on Sept. 29, 1990 over 40 chapters and colonies the most recent being at the University of New Haven Fall 2005. We have four founding schools all in NY and have reached Cali and TX with some chapters in the Midwest, New England and down to Va. But, because there are still alot who do not know our name and we are only 15 yrs old...we are considred up and coming lol, not by my standards.

To all the newer orgs out there, welcome and I wish you success.

Our website is http://hermandad-sia.org Go check it out for more information. Of course, if you have questions, there are a couple of us here on GC and a whole host on Myspace and facebook (gotta love those sites lol).

LOL! I hear ya...Theta Nu Xi is eight (going on nine!) with 35 chapters and we've been incorporated for a while now. But we're definitely up and coming. Until we round the bend of 100 years of existence, I'd say we'll still be up and coming!
