I also posted this in another thread, but thought it might be helpful in this one, too:
This is what my daughter carried in a small tote during recruitment last year at Alabama http://www.flickr.com/photos/99112471@N02/9323537608/ |

Thank you. You had some stuff that I didn't think about like the imodium. Now THAT problem would be a bummer to have but you never know what might happen in the heat! Did your daughter use the evian spray? We just picked up a small bottle of body spray from VS. Just in case she thinks she is starting to smell funky. |
She did use the spray! It was a very popular item that she shared with the girls in her group! She is at Alabama, so it was SUPER hot during recruitment. The water comes out in a nice mist, and then they would use the little hand held fan to cool themselves off!

Those spray Evian things are great. You can spray liberally and it will evaporate right away WITHOUT leaving you stinky and overly scented, a big no-no during rush. It's also fine enough that you can spray on your face without destroying your makeup. I'm not loyal to brand so if there's a cheaper aerosol water product, I'd go for it.
|
I've never seen aerosol water. Where do you buy it?
|
Strangely enough, at Nordstrom. They had them in the make-up department.

I've seen it at Ulta too.

Bump for 2015.

A great resource for these kits is Minimus.biz - mini/travel size nirvana. And you can buy all kinds of things individually that you'd normally have to buy in packs: condiment packets, various snacks, towelettes of any kind you could want, mini OTC medicine, etc.
Some of my favorites: http://www.minimus.biz/images/P05-0227301-8200bg.jpg "Emergency" cold pack - $1.93 And by emergency, I mean, it's summer in the south outside. http://www.minimus.biz/Images/P04-0127703-9200bg.jpg Mini spray sunscreen - $3.79 http://www.minimus.biz/images/C02-0328501-8200bg.jpg Evian mini spray - $8.24 (good lord - if you know someone going to France, have them stock up on these for you. I just got a 5 ounce one of these in the Paris airport for 4 euros) http://www.minimus.biz/images/C02-0216803-1000bg.jpg Antiperspirant wipes - $0.31! They also have a ton of different mini deo sticks. |

Bumping to endorse the Evian spray water. I just got back from 10 days of volunteering at a camp for special needs kids in MO. That stuff is the truth.

Ladies, ladies, ladies. CHUCK is all you need.
|
CHUCK!!!!!!!! I absolutely loved your recruitment story.
|
Chuck, we know you didn't carry your weapons in any Michael Kors tote bags during recruitment. Take those Spammers out, please!!!
|
Sciencewoman, the cold pack idea is brilliant--we are SO getting these for my daughter as she walks through West Campus in Austin during triple-digit temps...
Who else here remembers bringing an extra pair of pantyhose along, just in case you got a run in the pair you were wearing? (as we walked through West Campus in Austin during triple-digit temps...) |
Emergency in the south

Bahahaha.....l ordering for myself now! |
The BEST $15 I have ever spent.
https://www.instantoutfits.com/feath...ticky-bra.html These babies actually stick on and last ALL day. I make sure I have no wardrobe malfunctions and get rid of the pesky bra straps that I think look so messy. Best of all, if you apply correctly, these are the only sticky bras I have ever purchased that give me a slight lift (you have to pull the "wings" up and stick to a higher part of your chest) |
ugg! I don't know how to post the picture, it only posted a link :(
