In the event that she does not get a bid, Delta Gamma is colonizing at Arkansas next month so that is a possible second chance to go Greek. She will need to find a rec if she goes through DG's recruitment process. |
If the chapter wants her - they will work out a rec for her....
|
She may well have a rec that she knows nothing about, possibly written for her by an alum in her state.
|
Thanks. She has an amazing confidence and resolve. (I could use a dose suspect!)
When I look at the list of amazing houses she's visiting I know it will all turn out but as you can imagine all I was reading about required recs was freaking me out! I'm much more comfortable now having had this valuable input. She will find her letters. Thanks to all that calmed my nerves Only a few more days to go. |
Wine. I recommend wine.

Another vote for wine.

I have taken everyone's advice on the wine!

Watch Arkansas bid day online -

As of now, it has been reported to me that bids will be issued at the Arkansas Union due to impending weather.
|
I am here because I came up early with a friend whose daughter called her tonight to tell her she dropped out.
My daughter told me that they would tell them tomorrow if it was moved to the union and that parents could not come to the union because of space issues. I will defer to maple st alum because I am sure she knows more than my PNM. Anybody that wants to meet up, pm me. My friend went home and I found another ride home for Saturday. Since my friend left and my daughter will be tied up until after midnight tomorrow, my social schedule is wide open. |
Praying for great weather, there's something very special about getting your bid in the Greek theater.
Pref is in full swing right now, I hope it goes well for everyone involved. |
Thankful that 2016 primary recruitment is coming to an end! Good luck to all involved, and looking forward to seeing all these women doing amazing things on the Hill in the coming months and years.

Not sure what quota is, but I'm hearing 156 for Zeta Tau Alpha. #WPS

UA KKG took 116 per their instagram.
|
I don't see that on KKG instagram. Maybe I missed something.
I see 129 for Chi O on their instagram. Heard from other moms, but not confirmed: Zeta 154 with 2 no shows - literally did not show up for bid day, never even picked up their envelopes Tri Delta, 139 |
No way! That Zeta chapter is outstanding! Who on earth wouldn't want a bid from them?

Quota at Arkansas ranged from 116 - 166 this year. Each house received a different total. I can confirm that KKG got 116. Arkansas is looking forward to welcoming Delta Gamma to campus! Woo Pig Sooie!

I kind of understand that it helps balance out chapter totals, but I'm not experienced enough with RFM to understand how varying the quota might effect the carry figures. I've never heard of this before. Does it work? Is it fair to all chapters? |
Quote:
The strong recruiting chapters have lower quotas and therefore release a ton of women early in the week, giving those PNM's more rounds to get to know the houses who are interested in them. The weak recruiting chapters have higher quotas which has helped grow their numbers. I imagine RFM works the same (marrying return rates with expected quota range), except that houses are working towards different quotas. |
My understanding is Arkansas, for a variety of reasons has widely ranging chapter sizes. If they made quota/total to accommodate the high end of the spectrum the smaller chapters would continually be playing catch up when their chapters are already massive.
So they restrict the size of the largest chapters to allow the smaller chapters to balance out a bit. It seems to have worked for them, but it makes keeping track for the numbers geeks (like me) a little frustrating. The short answer is all the chapters at Arkansas are doing just fine and you just have to trust it. LOL. |
