I agree Sum of all Fears wasn't that great. It was the typical Morgan Freeman movie although I was shocked by his part. I won't give it away for those who may want to see it. :p

That movie was overrated, and I thought it was terrible. I remember people hyped me about it, saying it was scary, and they were going to see it again. I waited until it came on cable, and watched it. When it was over, I was sitting there asking myself, "What just happened?" Was this a movie, or a family's home video of a camping trip?

Gina1201 06-11-2004 01:12 PM

Now that I have finally seen it, I would have to say Scarface. I know, you're all going to jump on me for saying it but what was the big deal? It was alright but  .

Uh-Ohhhhhhh

I just didn't like it..It wasn't the worse movie ever I just think it's over-rated a bit. I remember seeing it in college and every woman I know loved this movie...but for me it was just OK

Nia Long was great in the movie............maybe Larenz Tate was my problem.... I don't know I just didn't get it...

If I can appease you ladies... THE SOUNDTRACK IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!! :D

Bringing Down the House that crappy movie

STL_Lady 08-12-2004 11:12 AM

The Blair Witch Project - what was that really about? I mean I watched it, but it just wasn't scary to me. All this hype about how it was the scariest movie ever. It didn't do it for me.

Baby Boy - When I saw it at the movies I had to restrain my best friend from throwing things at the screen. It was so stupid. We realized how stupid it was when Tyrese saw himself dead in Omar's front yard. I do own the movie on video now and I find it very hillarious, but I don't think it was meant to be funny.

Hav Plenty - Even though it came out many years ago. I remember seeing it at the movies........all I can say is I am so glad I didn't pay to get in.

lostnfound117 08-13-2004 05:02 PM

Gangs of New York sucked! I fell asleep!

tld221 08-13-2004 07:49 PM

The Matrix...corniest ending!

The Banger Sisters--keep it moving! was boring!

scary movie 3--the worst one of them all! 1 and 2 was stupid, but had laughs. the theater was packed when i saw it, and everyone walked out telling people to sell their tickets back. it was that bad.

Friday--just didnt click with me. the other two were horrible.

Belly--I had to watch this for a class once--i was ashamed to be from queens. hot mess all over.

*still trying to get into Big Fat Greek Wedding*

predictions of horrible movies to come:

Beautyshop
scary movie 4(yes there is another coming! eek!)
spiderman 3 (or whatever they plan to call it)
Kill bill 3 (quentin should be ashamed!)

underlying theory: in all trilogies that arent planned, the 3rd always flops. the 2nd is usually the best, but teh 3rd almost always sux!

p.s. i LOVED american beauty!

K.O.T.S 08-14-2004 10:44 PM

28 Days later- not scary, just gross and odd

Jurassic Park- lizards and cocky scientists dont do it for me

Waiting to exhale- D@##!!!, there are at least SOME good men out there

I just rented this movie from Blockbuster the other day and I just finished it. This movie pissed me off so bad I wanted to go to Blockbuster and ask for my money back. It was stupid and not funny at all. At least the other were stupid and funny!

The one movie I found overrated when it came out, overrated when I saw it back in '98, and overrated when this one cable channel had the all-day marathon for it about a month or so ago.

You ready?

The Color Purple

The beginning and the very end was good. The rest...BO-RING!

*runs out of thread*

Blessed2bDST 06-05-2007 05:19 PM

The Notebook.

Overwrought, contrived, full of cliches and bad writing (and acting)

The Village.

Night Shymalan fell off after Sixth Sense, seriously.

Hustle and Flow.

Oscar-nomination notwithstanding, this movie overall was a stinker.

What kinda class would make you watch Belly???

Baby Boy
The Pirates trilogy
The Scary Movie series
The American Pies

delph998 06-06-2007 11:40 PM

I agree with some of the people:

Blair Witch Project
Stompin' the Yard -- way too overrated
Waist Deep -- that movie was wack!

neosoul 06-07-2007 09:10 AM

Purple Rain
Shrek 3(tho funny, was very blah)
Pirates of the Carribbean 3

Senusret I 06-07-2007 09:27 AM

Cosign on Love Jones.... I'm sorry, I just don't buy Larenz Tate.

V for Vendetta was good, but overrated.

it was a class called "young gifted and black in the 21st century." it was an experimental class, the professor was a big film buff and wanted to capture the cinematic element of "our generation."

he was "really shocked" when we canme back to class and told him how horrible it was! and me being from queens, i was like "queens is not that gangsta, sorry to dissapoint yall." it was hilarious!

we also had to watch the first few episodes of "Moesha" cause he felt that was the first sitcom that focused on a black teenager.

the class was a HAM but at the same time i loved it!

But I can say that these movies were overated:

Stomp the Yard
Shrek III

I'll add more when I can think of them

Stomp the Yard was definetly too hyped up in the commercials and stuff but it was still a good movie. They definetly exercised the use of Chris Brown's name to pull fans and movie goers.

Me being into all things BGLO related, I skipped over all the stepping and really saw it for its almost ignored second point, the purpose of Greek orgs. The pride in being involved in a close knit organization that's doing something for its community and it's people. Like dude said "A fraternity, now that's a brotherhood. If all you're looking for is steeping and a sweet deal then this is not the organization for you." (Or something like that)

Second to the guys running up the hill:D, my favorite scene is the one in Heritage Hall when DJ learns about all the other orgs history.
