proud legacy to AOPi through my sister....no one else in our family is greek except for us. she was a bit disappointed i didn't go AOPi, but we still enjoy our individual greekness. it'll be ON, though, when one of us has a daughter to see who they'll go with...we've always side mine will go AOPi and her's will go Alpha Gam. :D

I'm a Pike, and I'm a legacy because my dad is also a Pike. Me and my 3 brothers (quadruplets) all pledged at the same time and we're all Pikes. My Uncle is a pike along with 2 or 3 cousins. Plus my sister's fiance is a Pike along with 3 of his younger brothers. It's a PIKE FAMILY!!!
Also, my mom is an AOPi, and my sister is an AGD |
Wow, that's awesome that you and all your brothers pledged the same fraternity. Sometimes we get twins rushing here, but ususally they wind up in the same place.
*Storytime* I know Chi O here took one set of twins this year, maybe two. And we had a pair in our sorority that got bids to different sororities, but the one that pledged elsewhere dropped out and then pledged us the next year. I'm a legacy to KD, and that's it. I'm pretty sure that nobody in my family went Greek before my parents' generation. |

of course i am not an official source, but just thinking through the thought. I bet if you were interested and call Sigma kappa nationals they would be able to tell you if you are considered a legacy or not. |

So perhaps she was considered a member, even if there was no initiating ceremony. |

Call SK HQ's with your gma's full name (including maiden name) and ask. Or email. They should be able to look it up pretty quickly |
I was a legacy, my older brother joined the same fraternity prior to me...

Re: Legacies, anyone?
My mom was an Alpha Xi Delta, but they wouldn't take me because I have a wang.

I am a KD legacy, but was dropped during Recruitment. My sister and I went to the same college. The following semester I was able to join the AGD colony that was started on my campus. This was a huge blessing in disguise. AGD was totally for me.

I am an Alpha Gamma Delta legacy (and sister!) through my grandmother, who was a Gamma Beta at Florida State University. I am a member of Gamma Tau, and my pledge class is Delta Gamma, that sure is a lot of Gammas, lol. Coincidence? Maybe, but it makes me think of the true meaning of my sisterhood. :)
As for my family? My grandfather is a Kappa Alpha, my uncle a Sigma Nu, my boyfriend a Sigma Nu, and my little brother a potential (and probable) Sigma Nu. As far as I know, I am the lone Greek girl so far! |
THAT IS YOU!!!
Hey sweetie!!:)

I'm sure I've posted this somewhere else but...
I am a legacy to: AEPhi (my mother) Chi O (my older sister) Other greeks in my family include: ZBT (Dad and 1 younger cousin) AEPi (Brother-in-law) AEPhi (Aunt) Also...my two of my mom's cousin's kids (I guess they would be my 2nd cousins once removed), one is in AXO and the other in SDT. ...but despite these other relations I am more than happy to be a PROUD DELTA GAMMA :D |
not a legacy
I found it interesting that I wasn't related to any ADPis until I became one and graduated.
Then I moved to Birmingham Roommate ADPi @Bama Then I got Married (first husband) Sister in Law ADPi @ Tennessee Mother in Law ADPi @ Oaklahoma Then my brother (KA Birmingham Southern)got married (still married) Sister in Law ADPi @ Bama Then my cousin when to Auburn Cousin ADPi @auburn So I am working on my real husbands neices already and my Brothers daughter. Isn't it destiny. (all i can do is try) Fun to be sisters with so many of my cousins and (x) in-laws |
My mother was an Alpha Delta Pi at UNC-Chapel Hill I believe (but she may have been initiated at Queens? I don't know...and i don't know if chapters even exist on those campuses anymore. it was a long time ago! lol), but they don't have it at my school. I became a Phi Sigma Sigma instead. :) But there was this weird guy at my old school (before I transferred and joined a sorority) who was in a frat (which will remain nameless lol) and he was like "I have to know what sorority your mom was in....it will tell me a lot about you."
The only other Greek in my family that I'm aware of is my cousin. He is a Pi Kappa Alpha alum from UGA ( I THINK, I may be wrong on the school, but it was definately in GA)...and was the archon at one time. So some of you guys might know him! |
