One of our alumni is Michael Eisner (Disney), I'm told that the Mighty Ducks hockey team was inspired by our mascot. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

Also, our colors are red buff and green. Also e-mail me for the reason as to why the grey squirrel (officially named Skirious for "shady tail") is our mascot. It's really neat!!
We also use Friendship, Love and Loyalty at least locally for a motto. I have also heard Alpha Gam Always used as a motto.

The PIKES here use the Firetruck as their mascot too. I didn't know your fraternity had a flower?!?!? That's so neat!

This is the Chi-O's and the Pikes infront of an antique firetruck that one of my sisters owns (her grandfather left it for her). We used it as our float during Homecoming!

Colors: Saphire Blue and Old Gold
Animal: We don't have an official animal, but some of our chapters use the duck...

Interesting story - If you look closely
at the Anahime(sp?) Mighty Ducks Hockey jersey,
you can find a Delta and a Upsilon hidden
in the design! Why? A DU helped create that design! ;-)

Phi Mu has the ladybug as their mascot too. We adopted it a couple decades ago at a National convention for chapters that have an ADPi on their campus. We use the lion most of the time, it is our official mascot; but if ADPi is on campus first, we use the ladybug out of respect for their lion mascot. Our chapter first came to UF in 1949 with ADPi so we both used the lion. We left for a while and came back a few years ago, now we use both the lion and the ladybug. Both are our national mascots, but most chapters will use one or the other.
Hope that clears up some of the confusion. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I think that the confusion is, is that some chapters have their own LOCAL mascott while there truly is a NATIONAL mascott. For example I know the national mascott for AOII is the Panda Bear. I'm sure as mentioned above that some will adapt their mascotts if there is another sorority on campus sporting the same one as theirs.
Maybe that clears up some of the confusion.
