We had them in mind when we re-designed the new member period. It's not elegant, but it works. In their case, a lot of the new member education can happen during a new member retreat. They have definitely had assistance from VST and IHQ about how to make it work.

I used to oversee this chapter and they were actually really tiny and in jeopardy 7 or 8 years ago. It's wonderful to see that they've pulled themselves up by the bootstraps and maintained a great growth rate!

They don't do everything in 3 weeks. They do the most essential things and continue their programming after Initiation. With the way the Alpha Gamma Delta Experience is set up now, it is much easier for them to do this since it is geared toward learning throughout the collegiate years, not just while a new member.

Yay Lafayette!

Surprisingly enough, I know two sisters from this chapter! One I got to know while she was pledging my Phi Sig Chapter (& went on to become a great brother!). She met her husband because of her AGD membership and when he got re-stationed, she went with him (I hope I'm remembering that correctly).

Another, is a close friend from my alumnae chapter. She just sent me a review of my graduate school personal statement. She has worked at Duke for a number of years doing research on asthma and just started Pharmacy School.

I think we can mention that one of those Omega new members is the legacy (daughter) of one of our beloved Foundation Trustees :)

Is that a huge recruitment for UBC? It seems significantly larger than I seem to remember in the past!

canadajen 09-20-2011 01:55 AM

Recruitment numbers have growing steadily over the past few years at UBC. Though this year's quota (23) was slightly lower than last year (28 or 29?), there was an an eighth chapter added to campus earlier this year with the recolonization of A O Pi.

Campus total has also been increasing and is now in the mid-70s!

It's an exciting time to be Greek at UBC! :)

AGDAlum 09-20-2011 07:32 AM

Sigma (Illinois) = 64

And this made me sooo stinking excited I about couldn't stand it!!

AGDAlum 09-20-2011 05:27 PM

Beta Epsilon (Carroll) -- 13
Kappa Beta (Missouri Western) -- 9

Update 10/1: KB has COB'd 4 so their NM class has 13!

(Let's root for 100% retention and initiation!)

BC's Greek system is much larger than Toronto's. MUCH.

AGDAlum 10-13-2011 04:29 PM

I just got the (on-paper!) newsletter from Beta Beta.

Beta Beta (North Dakota State): 31 (quota 32); BB chapter total: 75.

AGDAlum 11-08-2011 10:14 AM

Updates?

Can anyone provide other recruitment updates?

AGDAlum 11-21-2011 11:08 PM

Zeta Zeta (WPI) = 39 (quota plus 1).

Lots of initiation pictures on FB these days.

AGDLynn 11-21-2011 11:10 PM

Yea!!

Austin Peay will have their first Initiation in 2 weeks!

I was going to go but decided not to, but I will be meeting my Pearl Sister this Sunday! :D

AGDCanada11 12-31-2011 05:27 PM

I didn't see this anywhere on the board, so I'm sorry if I am repeating - Zeta Omega chapter initiated 6 girls in November! We're a pretty small chapter, so that was a lot for us!
