mmm Coopers!

Definitely went to Rudy's tonight in honor of this thread :)

good luck to sweet pea! hope that sunshine is doing okay.

Just curious why Ms. George feels it is neccessary to QFP almost every recruitment story posted on these boards? When enjoying everyone else's stories, I find to an interruption, annoying and frankly rude, as it lends itself to a general position of distrust. Certainly there are better ways to spend the day. JMO.

haha...I just sent a PM to someone wondering how long that would take. It defines predictability.

Benzgirl 08-22-2011 10:52 AM

I agree that the QFP is getting annoying. But then, I'm the anti-QFP person who even started a thread on the over-use of it.

I agree. She did it to my recruitment thread too, and it made me feel like she was calling me out as being a liar or something.

Wary 08-22-2011 01:39 PM

That's exactly what she's doing... It's ammunition. You say that your daughter liked Dripping Springs and found the New Braunfels skit funny? Lies! I will quote you for posterity so that later when these are proven to be lies, you will look like the conniving heli-mom that you are!

Lies? You mean like the lie you tell people about being Greek yourself?

Ladybugmom 08-22-2011 03:55 PM

Good Luck to your daughter tonite! I got back yesterday from helping with my daughter's chapter and I dont think I or she have ever been more exhausted! It was great fun though!!

The thing that made it so exhausting is the fact that they had to add extra parties for philanthropy and skit...they are not complaining as this is a postitve thing for greeklife at UT..UT is SUPER competitve, but it makes up only 12-15% of the student body there. I had not heard how many girls had dropped out as of yesterday..anyone here know?

galgirl 08-22-2011 08:06 PM

Just wishing your daughter tonight! I have several friends rushing at UT this year and all of them are having fantastic recruitments...hopefully I'll be doing the same next August!

Rooting for Kerrville, since I'm a hill country camp girl myself! I hope your daughter has a wonderful pref.

in_a_mad_rush 08-23-2011 12:30 AM

So Sweet Pea received a full schedule for Pref night and she attended parties at

Kerrville

Blanco

New Braunfels

She was a little bummed that Wimberley was not on her schedule but it was not a tear producer and she headed out to her parties in great spirits!

Blanco—Again another great visit and she really, really likes this chapter

New Braunfels—The “click” she had with them last night was not here tonight.

Kerrville—This house has been a favorite all week and became the front runner tonight, hands down, no questions asked. She feels that they really want her here and this is where she feels she belongs.

Now she has to put all of this into the computer. She is torn about listing New Braunfels at all…but decided to rank them as follows:

1. Kerrville
2. Blanco
3. New Braunfels

So like every other night…now she waits…Bid Day…5:00 PM tomorrow!

Sweet Dreams Sweet Pea!

MomofPNM11 08-23-2011 12:57 AM

Wishing her a happy ending! I hope she gets Kerrville.

FSUZeta 08-23-2011 09:12 AM

Just returned from Austin. Great recruitment.

KD have 81 new members and I know ADpi took the largest pledge class of 92.

Not for sure of quota but know there were tons of quota additions. Not for sure why.

CONGRATS TO YOUR DAUGHTER AND DG!!!!!! I hear they had an awesome recruitment.

galgirl 08-24-2011 12:06 AM

Yay for DG! I know a very sweet girl who's a DG and I hear the chapter is great. I'm sure Sweet Pea will have a marvelous time!

To add to the ADPi huge pledge class: my best friend's sister pledged ADPi and is thrilled. Congrats to them as well!

FSUZeta 08-24-2011 09:27 AM

Congratulations sweet pea and delta gamma!

in_a_mad_rush 08-24-2011 09:34 AM

Does anyone know what quota was? I am just trying to get an idea of how many girls pledged all together? And to anyone following the story...her roommate...Sunshine...pledged her legacy house!

Quota at UT was 64 if they took their sophomore quota. Looks like Pi Phi chose not to do that. They took 57 from the list I saw

srmom 08-25-2011 11:54 AM

I talked to a Chi O mom yesterday at the grocery store (best place to get the news!). she said the XO chapter took 62 pledges. (so I guess they didn't take the sophomore quota?) She said her daughter said they didn't have enough bid day t-shirts for all the girls since they hadn't planned for that big a class. Luckily the shirts were very similar to a shirt the actives had made last year, so they borrowed shirts for the extra newbies! They are really excited about the girls!

LOL truer words were never spoken! If you want to know what's going on head for the grocery store in your neighborhood!

CougarGrad 09-12-2011 01:39 AM

My mom lives in Round Rock, so it was fun to see all these central Texas town names! Congrats to Sweet Pea and Sunshine!
