I believe it's Grey Poupon not Gray Poupon.

ETA- Her posts read as though she is using (improperly) one of those automatic writing programs. I can see her screaming and ranting that shit into a microphone.

OMG, knight shadow is also a spammer. A youtube spammer.

Ok, this is sad, but I keep wondering... (MC or any other language people...)

Is it really EYE-sis, or EE-sis? I've mostly heard EYE-sis, but when we sang it in The Magic Flute, the director had us say "EE-sis". Could just be the difference between singing and speaking vowels, though.

I'm fully prepared for one of you geeks to come in with an explanation along the lines of "If it's Greek between 200BC and 1500AD, it's this way, and if it's Egyptian between 100AD and 600AD it's this way, but really, it should actually be THIS way, unless you're Samoan, in which case you tattoo your face, rather than actually speak".:p

All because the damn Greeks got involved. Wiki's not clear but it looks like it would have been Ee-sis in Greek. Also according to Wiki, Isis in Ancient Egyptian would have been closer to "Aset" or "Uset" (we don't know because Egyptian didn't write down its vowels). Egyptologists tend to say ee-set or ee-sa, Coptic tends to say "Ese or Esi"

I don't actually know anything else except to add that Egyptian gods were more fluid than pretty much any other pantheon - not only their roles but also their very identities would mesh, blend, and split off from each other.

In English, it's EYE-sis. In German (the language of Magic Flute) and almost any other European language it's EE-sis. English, so far as I know, is alone among European languages in pronouncing I as the diphthong ai rather than as the straight vowel ee.

Happened to me too, and it felt more like a mosquito bite. Not flattered at all, just mildly annoyed.

We all know I have an ego problem. Any attention (even from a spammer) is good :)
