I guess they want me. I have been pre pledging already. I just don't want to go through all of this for me not to get accepted. I honestly don't see why I should not 2.492 is hella close and I have a ton of recommendations.

LOL. What's the point of doing anything beyond talking to members, informationals, and programs if you don't know whether you qualify?

Back to the notion of "pre-pledging": Plenty of people pre-pledged (or claimed to have) and never became a member. That goes further back than my birth and I still have people my parents' ages telling me "I ALMOST became an XYZ." LOL. The funny thing about pre(unofficially)pledging is that you technically aren't even an "eternal..." when you drop or get dropped, as far as many BGLOers are concerned. You aren't on the books PERIOD.

Because he's an idiot. Yes I said it.

Especially when he gave the infamous line, "I honestly don't see why I should not 2.492 is hella close and I have a ton of recommendations."

There are a lot of idiots who have done, are doing, and will do the same thing.

Then that makes me think about "underground members." Cringe.

Yep, I went to school with them, even after telling them don't do it and they still did it.

And yes I have underground frat brothers who's name is on the chapter role...but they can't go to a National Convention.

Tattletale. LOL. I assume that's the unofficial roll because having them on the roll that the University, advisors, alumni, grad chapters, etc. could access would be a huge FAIL.

IMHO, with your G.P.A. you should spend your time, money and energy being a student and raising your grades to enhance your future job and grad school opportunities rather than worrying about membership intake. Unless you are working full time, have a double major in physics and math and a minor in chemistry, active in several service orgs on campus, going to school full time and helping support your family, optimally no org should take you seriously as a potential candidate. And to have a casuistic attitude about grades as an entry requirement to boot...

Yeah not official roll...and it was well before me.

@ Rhoyal.

LOL

Formerly, those days are long past.

Well dayum.

Am I right in stating that pre-pledging is kind of the equivalent of doing the hot guy's homework in hopes that he'll notice you, and then when prom time comes around, he asks out the beautiful dumb girl instead?

In a sense, kinda. But not really. It depends.

Like Sen says it depends. It could be described as that in its mildest form, and in its more severe form it can be the equivalent of the mistress messing around with the married guy, having his children, not receiving child support, yet convincing yourself he's gonna leave his wife and make things right when everybody has told you its not gonna happen.

thebest09 08-04-2010 10:18 PM

thanks for the insight ill talk to one of the members and ill go from there.. i just dont want to be a renegade or anything like that ..i dont think its that serious for all that
