I agree that it picked up in the last quarter. |
How could you have forgotten BAILEY????

I never watched party of five. That was one that I just... missed. No explanation.
However, I did know who Scott Wolf was (please - when party of five was on was when I was at the age where you read teen beat and dream of JTT.) |
is this a remake of the tv show when they neighbors were lizard aliens? did it come on fox (or something)? i think i vaguely remember it.

mini-Firefly reunion?
I don't know about you all, but I'm looking forward to seeing Alan and Morena on screen together - it'll be interesting to see the chemistry, since they've worked together before!

V is moving at a MUCH more reasonable pace now.
However, I still think the first episode could have been spread out over the first four to six hours of the season. |
I missed 99% of it.
|
I didn't watch it at all. Maybe I will give it another shot and catch it on hulu.
|
It was pretty good...definitely catch it on Hulu
|
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Hulu.

Why are Cylons running the FBI's V Threat Assesment Divison? :p
|
I wasn't allowed to watch V when it originally aired in the 1980s, because my parents thought it would be too scary for an eight-year-old. They always were over-protective. But I have watched it since.
The 2009 pilot struck me as consisting of much of the 1980s movie/series pureed and condensed down into one hour. Too much information presented in too short a show. If you weren't already familiar with the original concept, you'd be lost. I'll keep watching. I want to see how this series develops. |
I'm enjoying it, though when "Dale" came on screen my husband said, "Hey, it's Pirate Steve from Dodgeball," and that's all I've been thinking every time he comes on now.

You think they'll have the lizard baby?
|
Is it just this tv or is it abc? Because I'm having all kinds of technical difficulties watching V. I missed it last week, now that it's slow today, I'm trying to watch it and I can't even hear or see most of it. This totally sucks.

I like this show, of course my dad was addicted to the original show and has it on DVD, so I had to see if the new one was any good. I love the dude was 4400, he is always in SciFi stuff. Of course, I already think the new chick in the FBI is a V because she played a Cylon in BattleStar! |

Well, looks like hulu is gonna be best friend for this episode and the last one. |
TOnights was good..BF is not happy there is only one episode left this year :(
|
I thought last night's episode was great. Typical, just when I'm really starting to like a show, it goes on hiatus!! After next week, when will the new season start in 2010?

BIG ol BUMP...season 2 finale was tonight...does anyone still watch? Ill be sad if season 3 doesnt happen, I already lost FlashForward...ABC is just effing me over if they dump V...
|
I watch it. I hated the episode.
The writing was very sloppy and all over the place. Here are my specific complaints: 1. I hate that they revived the "star child" story. 2. Ryan's death was stupid. 3. Bliss is stupid. 4. Tyler's death was good, but I wanted him to KNOW his mom was right all along. I wanted to see the horror in his eyes. 5. Diana's death was disrespectful. 6. Anna needs more motivation for her evil. I am not sure the actress is doing that great a job. 7. Project Ares is STOOOOOPID. My and my frat brothers who watch this were in concurrence. We hope it doesn't come back. |
I loved the first season, but this season lost me. I've only watched part of this season.
Ryans death made me mad. The little girl actress was horrible too. I loved Diana, but I thought her deat hwas fitting, I liked Anna's quip "Now that's how you kill your mother." I'd be cool if it didn't come back. |

I stopped watching I think after the 2nd or 3rd episode of the 1st season. It just wasn't very good, to me.
|
I just wanted to tell Senusret that I don't watch "V" but have the utmost respect for it due to Michael Wright's (Eddie Kane, Jr.) roles in the 1983 and 1984 originals; and Morris Chestnutt in the new version.
That is all. :) |

I actually liked the finale.
It was interesting to see Erica, Lisa, et al pull defeat so thoroughly from the jaws of victory. I'm glad Tyler finally got what was coming to him (pun intended). Shoulda listened to your mom, kiddo. Lisa is deeply stupid. She had a golden opportunity to kill Anna, allowing Diana to re-assume her position as queen, and she threw it all away. That really annoyed me. It's not rocket science - given a perfect opportunity to kill the bad guy, you kill the bad guy. It was kinda sad, though, that she had to watch her replacement mate with, and then kill, Tyler. There really was no reason to have Amy kill Ryan, though. I guess that was put in there to underscore the hold Anna has on her (and to ensure that yet another fifth column member is out of the picture), but was it really necessary? Right after that, Amy blissed an entire planet's worth of humans. Something tells me she wouldn't have done that if she weren't loyal to Anna. I hope it comes back for another season. I want to see how Erica gets humanity out of being totally, thoroughly, completely fucked. |

Actually, I didn't know it was the finale. I was just thinking, "Wow, a lot of shit went down!" and I looked online, and it was the end. Blargh. They had better renew it because I do want to see how things play out. I know it's not that great of a show, but I love anything sci-fi that has to do with aliens so I'm holding on. Also, I remember reading somewhere that the concept is based on the first few chapters of my all-time favorite book, Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke. If you enjoy the show at all I HIGHLY recommend that book. Similar concept, but much, much better. And everything that goes down on the show is compressed into like 30 pages - the real story is what happens over the next couple hundred years after the aliens arrive. |

The Overlords didn't really have humanity's best interests at heart either, though. Their benevolent acts were means to an end - they were just stabilizing the planet for the big event at the end (trying not to give too much away to those who haven't read it). I believe Karellen explains all this in his final speech. The Vs are kind of doing the same thing, but more quickly, with nastier tactics and to reach a somewhat different goal. It's all a lot less sophisticated than it is in the book but there are some parallels. The most obvious is the ships hovering over the major cities and the resistance movement (which involves a priest, as in the book), but there's also the fact that the Vs are travelling around the universe taking something from each species they encounter, and that children who are a different species than their human parents have something to do with it. |
