Dear Lynn,

I don't know where and how to say goodbye to you so I guess I'll say it here. I wish you'd gotten yourself checked out last week but maybe it was just your time. I will miss that grin and you always sitting on that big desk instead of in a chair. My puppy loved you.

I'm mad at you for going so young! I'm going to reveal to the whole world now that you were the guy under the Dancing Razorback costume the year before you cheered. And as for cheering, maybe Paula M. will forgive you for dropping her on her head. Or not! Maybe she'll get even with you in Heaven.

I'm upset and I'm sad but I'm remembering a lot of good times. I'll see you and the rest of the yearbook staff in Heaven someday and we'll make the best
yearbook that Heaven ever saw. Till then--

Woooooooo, PIG! Sooie!

from 'Patty Hearst' -- now I know you're laughing at me--

I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. He accomplished a great deal in his limited time on earth.

You see, however, "accurate in more than one instance" simply doesn't cut it for any news source that's attempting to be reputable. A good reputation doesn't come from hitting the jackpot a few times--it comes from a consistent history of reporting accurate, verifiable facts. Perhaps the folks at TMZ are just fine with their reputation as a celebrity gossip site that's occasionally credible and a lot of fun.

I may not discount TMZ as readily as I may have before June 25--but if you think it's going to be my primary source of news, you're crazy.

I am sad and heartbroken about E Lynn's passing. I have been reading his books since I was 15 (I'm almost 30) and his works never let me down. The few times I have seen and met him in person, he was very kind, funny and in love with his fans. The last time I saw him was almost a year ago during our national convention. I would have never thought that I would be seeing his obit yesterday.

Rest in peace, E. Lynn. :( :(

Thank you for sharing that. Your classmate truly understood our beloved E. Lynn. I have similar feelings for E. Lynn because his writing helped me to relate to one of the minor characters in "Invisible Life" and ultimately embrace a part of who I am: unashamed and unapologetic for loving "the kids" to death. I will support and embrace my gay friends at any time and dare someone to say something to me about it. I am so grateful to E. Lynn for sharing his stories with us and enlightening so many people including myself.

I also met him once and delighted in his beautiful personality and smile. I went to his booksigning at Outwrite Books in Midtown Atlanta, and he was gracious in meeting fan, signing books, and taking pics with every single one who asked.

RIP, E. Lynn

Unless you can point to where I said anything of the sort, I would say that YOU are the one who is crazy. I don't give a flying flip WHAT you use as your primary news source.

Stand down there for a bit, cowgirl! I wasn't speaking of you specifically, I was using the general "you."

Why are you so angry? Did you find out your man was on the DL or something?

I know it's a public message board, but

Did y'all really add all this mess in a thread where E. Lynn's fans are expressing their sorrow and admiration for a beloved author that we lost just this past weekend? REALLY? :(

DrPhil 07-27-2009 10:08 PM

Well, I didn't create this thread solely for sorrow and admiration purposes. I made it to announce his passing and see if the news was accurate.

I wasn't a fan but respect the general notion of him and the fact that he had passed.

The rest is par for the course, including carnation's post that was real personal.

Yea, but look who started it. Some people try to have disagreements wherever they can.

It certainly sounded specific.

As for the latter comment, if you are going to attempt to insult someone, be witty about it. You're beyond corny.

You're right. The thread was flowing along nicely until Munchkin decided to have a hissy fit about a very general comment I made about not being quick to always discount TMZ. For the record I stated that I don't always discount TMZ. NOWHERE in my statement did I say that anyone should use TMZ as a primary news source.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. To chime in on what someone else has said, I certainly hope there is no attempt at saying that Harris died of anything that is considered to be "related" to homosexuality. However, from what I have seen and heard thus far, no one has been speculating in that area. As I mentioned in my previous post, my understanding is that he had a heart attack and that his friends and family think that it was related to why he fainted a few days prior.

In unrelated news...there is an unconfirmed rumor that teddy Pendergrass is sick in the hospital and his family has been called.

No link or anything as of yet but if it happens....well.

DrPhil 08-03-2009 05:14 PM

uh...I feel some kind of way about those kinds of unconfirmed rumors being spread....
