Wow, that sounds like fun!

Get on the pictures--really! As someone who ended up writing a ton of recs one summer, time is of the essence.

I second everything that has been said about photographs taken by a friend or family member. I have found that those tend to be more memorable (in a good way) than professional pictures.

Big caveat: If you decide to use a picture of yourself in a formal, make sure that it's not too low-cut, short, backless, etc. Remember that this picture is the only visual that the alumnae writing your recommendations will have of you (assuming that they don't know you personally). More modest is always a safe choice.

Or Pretty Pink Princess...ay yi yi.

Elle09 I think you have been given some good advice here. Good luck to you during Recruitment.

I would go with the photo on the far right of this website http://www.highschoolseniorportraits.com/ not the left or the middle. That's a good photo. I'd avoid anything with vehicles, flames, sequins, farm animals, or ridiculous props.

i had a senior pic similar to this

only my name was on the back of the chair
:-)

That's way better than anything on fire. I really had no idea that drapes weren't the norm until recently.

Elle09 don't let the photographer over photoshop or over retouch the photos, it doesn't always look good to have eyes bordering on the soul stealing or demonic.

Personal favorite portrait and something to shoot for.

ETA: probs NSFW, but I was so distracted by the concept I didn't realize. http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/wp-co...shy-couple.jpg

Oh. My. Gawd. I may die laughing.

Where did you find that???

I'm really glad no one's standing behind me right now... I'm at work.

annabella 07-02-2009 04:14 PM

oops sorry. I kind of forget that she was backless......got so distracted by the whole concept. Editing to just make it a link.

OMG - That girls looks way too familiar. I honestly think she might've been one of my students recently. I'm going to have to research this...

This site is hilarious.

I think this pic might also be a no-no... http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/2009/...ild-wild-west/

wow
classy!

VandalSquirrel 07-02-2009 05:07 PM

I see the pregnancy photos on display in the mall, it trips me out.

(Lots of local photographers have displays to drum up business. Our mall is not that huge though, and tabling is the norm, for all kinds of events.)

that site is awsome
