My rho gamma was an AOPi...she said it was so hard for her to keep a straight face when I ranked them number 1 after 19 party :)

In the end, you do end up where you're supposed to be, be it Greek or independent :)

Thank you so very much for sharing your story. You are bringing some much needed credit back to this forum!

I wanted to comment on the lack of connection that so many PNMs feel. It really makes me crazy that someone can decide that there was no connection- and drop out!- after one or two parties. If the chapter has 100 members, and the PNM has met 3-6 over 1-2 parties, then they have only met 3-6% of the chapter!!

Please understand that I am not coming down on you hard for that, but instead use you as the point that it is best to stick things out and give chapters a chance! It is almost as if some PNMs say "I didn't feel a connection" but what they really mean is "I was too good for that chapter." Your story is a testament that it may not be best for one to trust that "no connection" thing after such a short time. Heck, we enourage new members to stick it out for several weeks to build those relationships. To steal from KSUViolet- "It takes time."

Thank you, thank you for showing everyone that there is sisterhood everywhere, and that "all it takes is one."

Applause.

ETA: Oh and congrats to you and ADPi!

YES.

It is impossible to determine a "connection" within like 2 days of recruitment.

This is why we encourage PNMs to stick it out during the recruitment process.

This forum is FULL of stories from girls who were cut heavily or cut from favorites, only to end up finding their home in a group that they never expected to like.

You just never know what will happen, and if you drop out, you lose out on the chance to find out.

And a sidenote: Thank goodness for a REAL retro recruitment story posted by an ACTUAL GCer that has a POINT.

To use my real GC username, haha...

I honestly did give Passion a chance, both in recruitment and COB. I found that, when I wasn't comparing them to 18 other houses, I absolutely loved them (and it's now my chapter :) )

Thanks for giving me a forum to tell my story, because I think it's a good one for PNMs to read, no matter what school they go to. You can get heavy cuts and still end up with a happy ending! It all works out in the end...

Great story, IUHoosiergirl88! I'm glad things worked out for you in the end, and happy to hear that an AOII was so helpful to you during the process!

Yayy loved this story! I like how you were honest but never to the point of being rude.
