So today I saw an informercial for some pots & pans, but I can't remember the name. Apparently they are super non-stick, that they were cooking an egg (i believe it was sunny side up) and when they moved the pan, the egg would slide to the side. If it really does cook the pancakes the way it showed, then I want it!!

I just bought them from the As-Seen on TV store at the mall today. I haven't tried them, but I'll be sure to give and update when I do.

Perfect Strap

They do tend to ooch up over the course of the day - but I just pull it down. Not a biggie, and still MUCH better than having straps falling down all the time.

eta - It basically goes to right above the strap to nestled in between my shoulder blades.

EagleChick19 02-08-2009 08:43 AM

I've always wanted to try the Perfect Strap. Thanks for all of the reviews! :)

I have the Aqua Pods in my plants at home! They work very well, and I usually don't have to water my plants for 2 weeks.

I was all set to try them this morning with my new Lilly cashmere shell - then I noticed the coolest thing ever - the shell has tiny snaps with strings on them at the top of the straps, so you can snap your bra strap right into the shell. Even though they came off the mega-extra clearance rack at Saks - luxury clothes rock!

Bought the Ped Egg today. My feet get realllly bad in the winter. I think it's karma from getting pedicures all summer long. The Ped Egg is amazing. My feet feel like I just left the nail salon.

Leslie Anne 02-13-2009 01:36 PM

Maybe it's a skin type thing. The Ped Egg just shredded my feet.

Anyway, I saw this commercial last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fa41HOJ_iI

Is it just me or is this commercial ridiculous? Those bears are scary.

I used it only on my heels which were very dry and getting scaley. It didnt' seem any different than what a pedicurist would do with the scraper and pumice stone.

Double post, but does anyone own the Sham-Wow (the towels that are supposed to be super absorbent). I keep seeing the commercial, and i'm curious to know if they are really that good.

I got about half the Sham-Wow pack from my dad the other week. I was so excited because for some reason, I buy a lot of clothes that are "hand wash only." So I figured, perfect! I can roll my shirts in the Sham-Wow and stop using up regular towels to absorb the extra water before I hang them to dry.

I would like to rename them the Sham-Eh. Maybe it's just me, but they're no more absorbent than my bath towels! And when you buy them brand new out of the pack, they smell horrible! Plus I've only thrown mine in the wash twice, and they're pretty much shriveled to half their original size. I have yet to try them in the kitchen - maybe they'll be better - but I'm not holding my breath.

We ordered the workout DVD's P90X and they work well. Mike has lost so much weight and built muscle in his arms, shoulders, abs, and back.

I haven't ordered anything recently but those bra strap things look interesting.

WinniBug 02-23-2009 04:12 PM

There's something that I think I saw on one of those commercials....
It's supposed to make painting easier...it's not like a brush, but a different kind of applicator that doesn't drip, covers easily and applies with one coat. Am I crazy or does this actually exist??

Are you talking about the Point and Paint?

From some of the reviews I've seen (on Google) it doesn't work very well, which is disappointing because I wanted to try it.

WinniBug 02-23-2009 07:06 PM

YES! My husband has to paint our nursery and he's never done anything like that before.
It doesn't work well? :( Boo!

The consensus of the reviews I saw said that:
-- It takes forever to ship
--It only costs $19.99, but most people got charged anywhere from $30-100
--It breaks easily...like VERY easily
--The "edger" portion of the painter doesn't work and you'll still get paint on the trim

VandalSquirrel 03-03-2009 01:23 AM

I heard another commercial with Vince, this was for the Slap Chop www.slapchop.com On the website it says CHOP NUTS WITH ONE SLAP hee hee. He markets it as a way to be in a great mood all day because you can slap away. Just by adding veggies to tuna it makes your life exciting.

You're going to love my nuts! Just one finger, some people use their whole hand.

Not seeing this and just hearing him was hysterical.

You can also get the graty, and put two kinds of cheese in it at once. Fettuccine, linguine, martini, bikini.

WTF.

Thank you everyone for letting me know that the Ped Egg works. Picked one up at Target last night and my feet feel AMAZING.

Here's a link to their website, they grade everything pretty hard and there are many products listed.

Off topic, but we must be from the same area! I love to watch KFVS 12 and Does It Work Wednesdays. It's kept me from buying some pretty wretched things...

How funny! I'm originally from New Madrid Co., MO. I live in Florida now, but I still go to the KFVS12 website every Thursday to see what was on Does It Work Wednesday! *LOL*

Has anyone tried the Instyler? My friend will buy anything on tv. She used it on my hair, and it was wonderful! It left my hair shiny & bouncy. I ordered one, and it should be here Friday.

I also used a product called The Strapper that was like The Perfect Strap. It is a great alternative to having only racer back bras. (All my bra strap slide off my shoulders otherwise.)

It can be uncomfortable depending on the kind of strap and if it slid too far up, it would kind of make the straps cut in to me. Does Perfect Strap have that problem?

SWTXBelle 03-08-2009 05:32 PM

Perfect Strap

It slides up - I make sure to put it below the buckles on the individual straps so it can't go up too far. I haven't had a problem with straps digging in even when it does ride up a little - and it is very easy to pull down.

Leslie Anne 03-10-2009 11:11 PM

Okay, I actually bought the ShamWow. I don't know. It didn't seem to soak things up any better than an ordinary towel.

I'll tell you what does work...MIGHTY PUTTY! I love this stuff.

I know I'm totally bumping this thread but I wanted to see if anyone else is doing P90X? Me and the FH started it last week and it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. At least that Tony guy isn't as annoying as some other DVDs but man, am I sore! And I miss good food!!! Here's to hoping I look hot by September...!

Since this thread is about those 'As Seen on TV' products, I wanted to post our local newspaper's recent article about some of them.

http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/45849312.html

Three Akron Beacon Journal staff members tested several products advertised on TV and rated them. The products they tested were:

Moon Sand (kids toy)
The Ped Egg
iSlice (package cutter)
Get a Grip Handle
EZ Combs (hair clip)
Strap Perfect

epchick 05-25-2009 04:35 PM

I got the strap perfect at walgreen and I have to say that it works good to hide the bra strap, but damn it HURTS. It makes my bra dig into my shoulder!!!! :(

I guess i'll have to play around with it and see if I can get it to a place where it doesn't hurt my shoulders.

Did you loosen the band? It needs to be pretty loose - when you put the strap perfect on it will take up the slack. It shouldn't hurt. Mine rides up a little throughout the day - I just yank it down!

No, but I did see the promo for that. "Find out why there's more to selling than just the yelling!"

I bought Perfect strap at Bed, Bath, & Beyond in february right before my trip to LA. I love it! It took some getting used to, but it really does work I think.

Mighty putty does work! It fixed my son's car, my car, our vacuum, and it really does seal a leaky a garden hose!

PM_Mama00 05-31-2009 05:13 PM

I bought the Bump Its. I have thick hair but it's very fine and when I straighten it it always lays flat. I tried the two sizes it comes with and I just didn't have enough hair to 1- keep it in and 2- cover the plastic. I haven't tried the little Bump It they include for bangs.
