-Slippers
-New coat
-New snow boots...only to have it be a supposed 78 degrees tomorrow...
-More summer sausage than I know what to do with
-Two broken toes

AKA_Monet 12-26-2008 10:30 PM

I was naughty this year... :(

My husband gave me a $50 REI card... I never go there. So I will be willing to trade if anyone can tell me where that website is?

My dad somehow gets the stuff the falls off the boat and sent me a liquid hand soap dispenser...

My mom gave me the best gift which was cash.

My brother and his 2 women and their babies  gave me pictures of the babies. Cute, but you all know how kids change.

Guess I have to be better for next year... :(

But what am I getting in return? ;)

Benzgirl 12-26-2008 10:43 PM

So, I'm a little late to this party because I just got home:

Money
Emeril cookware
Trader Joes Gift Card
Gift Card to Cooking School Gift Shop where I volunteer (buying my Wusthof Santoku Knife)
Missing Pieces to my Antique Cigar Humidor and pipe stand (long story, but I don't smoke)
A Job Offer

The only item I may "return" is the job offer. It needs some negotiating.

AKA Monet, REI has tons of North Face stuff...you may want to look into putting the $$ towards a really nice North Face fleece! It's a cold winter!

The best game on the wii fit imho is the ski jump - so awesome! overall the whole thing is cool. I'm only 6 fit years older than my real age, but I hear some people have been upset about their fitness evals. It told my sister (39) that she was in her 60s! (She was a tad offended)

I've got the hang of the cow game, but I can't get the stupid air hockey paddle to do what I want it to do. The tank game is impossible.

Tippiechick 12-27-2008 12:31 AM

I went out today and bought myself some more gifts from my husband;)

I got all of these for between 50-70% off:
huge crockpot
huge food processor
two nice shirts
some tailored jeans
a mobile phone charger

I don't know if you tailgate or go to other outside parties, but I'm fairly certain that the chair I got came from REI. One of the people with whom I tend to go to outdoor events had one at the last bash, and I've been lusting after it ever since!

AKA_Monet 12-27-2008 12:47 AM

^^^Thank you... I need to try to see this as an opportunity rather that what I feel like thinking! :)

cheerfulgreek 12-27-2008 12:52 AM

I got everything I wanted. I got a lot of clothes, the locket I wanted, and a new laptop from Dell.:)

I've already been told that I best get the ice cream making attachment immediately, if not sooner!

I feel obligated to state that, due to weird circumstances, my birthday wasn't really celebrated this year, so I think the guilt factor played heavily into my Christmas presents!

My parents bought the Artisan for me in navy blue during college. They refused to let me bring it with me to Phoenix, but it just sits on their counter and collects dust! For a housewarming present, they got me the Pro 5...I miss my Artisan though!!

AGDee 12-27-2008 09:14 PM

Ok, my Christmas is done now. I got an external hard drive so I can back up pics, music, docs, etc. I got an Ihome type dealio (an off brand, but it works great!), Seasons 3 & 4 of Grey's Anatomy, a book titled "Monroeville: The Search for Harper Lee's Maycomb" , a Monroe County Heritage Museums refrigerator magnet, and a Monroeville, AL, Home of To Kill a Mockingbird travel mug (from my brother..guess where he's living these days?)

I was so torn between the pink and the sage. My kitchen has a botanical splash guard & prints in light pink & sage - but I thought that getting more pink would be easier than getting more sage. Hope I'm right!

Thetagirl218 12-28-2008 04:21 PM

Ok, so I didn't find this thread until today,

I got:

Canon PowerShot 10 mp camera
Book: Historic Headlines of the New York Times, 1851- 2008 (This book is awesome!)
An alarm clock, radio, iPod charger combo
Elizabeth Arden perfume
Gift cards to Starbucks, iTunes, and Target
Wii Batman Lego game
Some scratch off lotto tickets
Mini Fondue set!

I am late to the party also. My mom bought me the mixer I had on my registry for the wedding for Christmas.

Some other gifts:
-a new laptop from the husband
-set of towels and rug for the bathroom
-a new Cowboys jersey (Romo)
-set of Bridal ornaments (German tradition)
-new Crocs (yes they are ugly but they are oh so comfortable!)

KSigkid 12-28-2008 06:30 PM

A whole bunch of books (including three on the Supreme Court), some money, and some new shirts, with the big present being a nice new watch from my in-laws.

Also, used some of the Christmas money to buy a new suit yesterday, as I needed one.

iamqueena 12-28-2008 07:51 PM

Three fashion belts from Forever 21
A Format T-shirt

From my parents:

I think it will be great! Post pics!!! :)

I looked up the color of my Artisan, it is called Green Apple. They used to have cute quilted covers in matching colors for the mixers on Amazon.

SWTXBelle 12-28-2008 08:50 PM

Mine is cobalt blue - and the cover is nice.

Benzgirl 12-28-2008 09:41 PM

Mine is Metallic Crome. I wanted one in copper, but it would have been about $300 more.

Kappamd 12-29-2008 01:32 AM

Just found this thread....

From the rents- a new Northface, Uggs, Tomtom, season 4 of House and Greys, a 16 setting Oneida flatware set that I bought on black Friday and they paid me back for

From the boy/his parents- a Pandora bracelet and the owl charm, a new Fossil watch

A ton of visa giftcards from the extended family

The wiifit I gifted myself with :)

catiebug 12-31-2008 01:33 PM

I spent oodles of the husband's money and have a nice to new wardrobe to show for it.

KSUViolet06 12-31-2008 01:49 PM

*Trip to Hawaii (thanks dad)
*comforter for my bed
*2 Coach bags & a wallet

ISUKappa 12-31-2008 01:59 PM

From DH:
- iPod Touch
- Chronicles of Narnia series
- Coldplay CD
- auxiliary cable to play the iPod in the Outlook

From my family (we draw names so we only have one person; my BIL had me):
- Mary Poppins DVD
- Beedle the Bard book

From my ILs:
- GC to local department store
- chintzy holiday plate

Pretty low-key for us. I LOVE my new iPod. My birthday is also 10 days after Christmas, so I know I'll get a few more things then.

agzg 12-31-2008 02:03 PM

I love my new iPod too... Live in has already said he misses me - I spend too much time playing with it!

PhoenixAzul 01-04-2009 04:09 PM

We just got back from our honeymoon, so Christmas was kinda lean this year compared to past.

-The Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook (which I needed so that I don't have to ring my mom every day when I'm trying to make something from my childhood. It's got great "everyday" recipes and advice on how to shop/buy...a staple for every kitchen!)
-How to Eat Supper by Lynne Rosetto Kasper from NPR's the Splendid Table (another book on how to cook damn near everything. I love this radio show and my husband and I listen to it every week and say "man I want to eat that!". So we got the book to help us cook it)
-Museum of the Missing (a book on art theft that I saw in Spain and wanted)
-The Decorated Tile by J&B Austwick (a book on British Victorian tiles that I need for my research that's out of print and kinda hard to get in the US)
- The Americans by Robert Frank with intro from Jack Kerouac (a beautiful photography book for my library).

and he/we got Rock Band 2 for the Wii. I saved for months to get this for him and he was so surprised when he got it because I kept it at my parents' house, and we had already opened "all" of our presents at home. Muwahaha.
