Ok, "destroy" was a strong term. But she will not do well against seasoned GOP leaders who won't have any interest in continuing to make her appear competent on a national level. They will expose her every weakness and appeal to the broader swath of the party that want to move forward and regain traction as opposed to the evangelical core she will probably continue to appeal to. And I disagree, Romney isn't going anywhere, he'll be back in 2012.

Charlie will NOT be a contender. Romney won't either because he is a Mormon and that was already apparently too much for some ultra evangelicals and now with Prop 8 hanging on the Mormon Church in Cali, they won't forgive OR forget, so he's between the proverbial rock and hard place.

I am becoming more and more of a Jindal fan everyday.

But whether or not Gov. Palin sticks, no one will wipe the floor with her. I find it so amusing and amazing that she engenders so much vitriol from the left.
She who will not be named is apparently also she who must be destroyed. Why is that? Is it because she is also one who must not frighten the left anymore?

Just asking. She's not my number one, but it is an interesting phenomenon.

She gets some vitrol from the right too - I'm no Democrat, but I would be beyond upset if she ended up as the presumptive nominee for 2012. There are a large number of us Conservatives out there who hope she fades into the background by that point.

And (admittedly as a Romney supporter) if people are going to withhold votes on Romney because he's a Mormon, my party is in more trouble than I thought.

Why do you think Charlie Crist isn't a contender? I know that a lot of Floridians are not happy with his performance as governor, but it seems like outside of the state, people really like him.

I think Mitt Romney won't make a lot of moderates or liberals happy, because of the Mormon thing. It's just too weird for a lot of people.

I've always really liked Bobby Jindal--my college alumni association here in NYC is honoring him in the Spring, and apparently, he's really excited about the award. Always cooperative. Plus, he's what Louisiana really needed after decades of corrupt administration.

I voted for Mitt in the Florida primary, but let's both face it. OUR party is in trouble. The evangelicals have too much influence. I'm a hard core fiscal conservative and a social moderate and I feel lost in the crowd.

Charlie is, shall we say, a bit shallow.

Jindal has some star power. And some core principles.

PALIN SET TO REAP MILLIONS IN BOOK DEAL

Sarah Palin’s failure set to reap her $7m book deal

She failed to save John McCain from presidential election doom, but Sarah Palin, the Republican senator’s controversial running mate, may yet emerge as the saviour of the American publishing industry. Literary agents are queueing up to sign her to a book deal that could earn her up to $7m.
With Barack Obama’s election victory certain to generate dozens of volumes from politicians, strategists and journalists – and with another shelfload of memoirs expected from members of President George W Bush’s administration – Palin’s personal account of her tumultuous introduction to national politics is widely regarded as the book most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance. ......

HOWEVER:
Palin might not be permitted to cash in on fame
NEW YORK (AP) — If her bid for vice president fails, Gov. Sarah Palin could almost surely use her sudden fame to obtain a lucrative book deal or high fees on the lecture circuit, or even get her own TV talk show. But Alaska law might not allow it.
A provision of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act restricts outside employment. It says: "The head of a principal executive department of the state may not accept employment for compensation outside the agency that the executive head serves."
Senior Assistant Attorney General David Jones said the section likely applies to the governor but it's not clear what constitutes "employment."...

Well, what is one more court case for her?

Fowl Ball: The Palin Turkey-Farm-Interview Outtakes

"Fowl Ball: The Palin Turkey-Farm-Interview Outtakes
What you didn't see on YouTube. Posted Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at 10:39 AM ET

Someday, we may all tire of Sarah Palin, but we're nowhere near that point yet. Last Wednesday, the Alaska governor visited a turkey farm in Wasilla to grant a pre-Thanksgiving pardon to one lucky Tom. She was borrowing a White House tradition that's the equivalent of a political layup. But she managed to blow the shot. "
Slate seems to have a sense of humor-they have both the youtube link and one of their own. Their's is not for kids.
