I for one am not behind in my US foreign poicy and politics - I am a political science major and right now I am currently takeing American Foreign Policy, Political Behavior, and Intro to International Relations. I understand the stances America has taken throughout the years - and i understand your argument that this was retaliation. however, I very strongly disagree. If a nation has a problem with US military forces being in their region - they should take it out on US military forces - not civilians and inncocent passangers on an airplane. There are two sies to every story - while you may see it as wrong for the US to be supporting Israel - others may see it as our moral obligation. Nations come to us for help, we still are and always will be the most powerful nation - there will always be people who disagree with the way this nation conducts it's foreign policy - but you cannot please everyone all of the time.

I belive the reason why they destroyed the WTC is to mess up our economy, if it was their agenda they should have done it like 3 am or something.

I disagree that the economy is the target. Osama bin Laden has been quoted as saying that it is the duty of every Muslim to KILL AMERICANS. He and his followers don't just want to mess with our economy; I wish it were that simple. They want us all dead. Additionally, the Taliban, which is harboring bin Laden, has interpreted Islam in such a way as to use it to oppress, torture and kill people, especially women. I feel for our country and for legitimate followers of Islam who have to deal with the fact that bin Laden has twisted the religion to suit his evil purposes.

Their agenda is to kill Americans...the economy is just gravy. That's why they did what they did between 8-9 in the morning, in what could be considered two of the most powerful complexes in the United States, if not the world.

I'm not tired of new coverage...but it hurts me just like it was the 11th all over again to see that 767 slam into the WTC. I feel like showing that over and over again is gratuitous. I understand that new developments happen every day, and I'm keeping tabs on those, but I cannot watch the videos from last Tuesday.

Plus, I'm not from NY or DC, but I have family and friends who possibly were in those places, and the first few hours after the attack were HELL. Most places in the NE had overextended their phone capabilities, and I couldn't call home for hours. I wouldn't wish those fears I had that morning on my worst enemy. So, everyone is affected--this should just remind us that NYC is not the center of the world.

I can't believe the depths of pettiness that people are sinking to on these boards (whomever STARTED OUT using the curse words, assuming that because they're "older" they can criticize younger people, and criticizing others' knowlegde of foreign relations). Now's the time for us all to come together, and put the pettiness aside. If someone wants to leave--seriously, let them leave. Not a problem.

To all the "older" people who say college students, teens and young adults don't understand or care: you sound just like your mother :D ;)
We as greeks know that you can't generalize any group based on a few experiences. Let's not behave in a manner that we'd complain about in any other circumstance.
