I did not continue through once I only was asked back by the two that I had nothing in common with. Why would I want to go back to a party where once girl was flat out rude to me twice, and another where we could even have a conversation for 20min. without it seeming like work?! I didn't mean it like oh my gosh this is my dream... I have so many "dreams" that don't even come close to this so I def. used the wrong word if that's how you took it! I just meant that I thought this would be a great experience for me in college.

I think that if this "dream" was at all important to you, you would have (1) tried to make it happen earlier in your college career or (2) gone back to any group that was interested in you. The one person you spoke with at each organization represented themselves and not the entire organization. I understand that it is difficult to judge an organization based on a 20 minute conversation with a lack-luster member but my guess is that you probably had your heart set on a select few houses and weren't open to giving other organizations the benefit of the doubt. I personally think that you missed your chance when you turned down the organizations that saw something wonderful in you. Sorry for being so blunt but you wanted honesty and this is my honest opinion.

It sounds like you dropped out after the first round. I really have no sympathy for your situation if that is the case. It's doubtful that you'd have talked to the same women in the next round, and you might have had an entirely new impression of them.
Just wondering, why hadn't you gone through recruitment during your first three years of school? |

Well, what's done is done, but if you are a senior, you are old enough to know that you should not base an entire group on your experience with one or two people. I know that all you may have had was 20 minutes, but there is so much more to look at during your time there. Were people genuinely smiling? Was there laughter? Did other sisters seem invested in talking to PNMs? What about their core values, philanthropy, etc.? In your three years on campus, do you know or click with sisters from any of the sororities? Are any groups particularly active in other areas of campus that you might be interested in? It was likely random who you ended up talking to, and not every one clicks with everyone else. I don't mean to sound harsh, but I think that you have thrown away two chances by not going back to those houses. |

I just pledged (I am a freshman), and I have a junior in my pledge class. She will only be there one more semester than you- I say GO FOR IT! :)
Best of luck! |
