My understanding is that Oklahoma requires (as all states except Washington and Louisiana do) the MBE of its applicants. The MBE is the Multistate Bar Exam. This is the 'multi-choice' portion of the Bar and covers what is typically 1L subjects (plus Evidence).

Oklahoma does NOT, however, require the MEE--the Multistate Essay Exam. This is the Essay portion of the Bar that some states require of their applicants (for example, in Illinois, there are 6 MEE questions given to applicants in the afternoon of Day 1).
Oklahoma also does not use the MPT--the Multistate Performance Test which is used in about 1/2 of the 50 states.

(PS: I got this information from information on the OKCU School of Law website ;) ).

Regardless--both parts kinda suck (especially the MBE in my opinion--it was the hardest multiple choice test EVER!)

Sending tons of good lucks and well wishes to GP, APhiRattlerGal, VandalShyster, basket96 husband, and all those taking the big test tomorrow.

Kath, I hope you get some sleep once this is all over. :o

Ok, so hubby is taking the CA bar today, so I tell him I'll bring him lunch during his break. I show up around 11:30 and at 11:40 we have this HUGE earthquake only about 10 miles from where they are taking the Bar. He said one guy said "Holy *$#!&" and a few ducked under the tables. Once he saw the overhead lights were ok (despite swinging to and fro precipitously), he kept going.

A few other wives, parents, friends, etc. were outside waiting with lunch for their loved ones and we all sort of looked at each other -- was that an earthquake? One gal was from the east coast and had never experienced one before. "Welcome to California". The good thing about most of these earthquakes is that they are over rather quickly. I heard on the news that there were a number of aftershocks, but they must have been quite small, as I did not even feel one of them.

I hope that's the worst thing that happens during their exam. As if they weren't stressed enough!

I hope everyone else's day was less eventful!

I just want everyone to know how fantastic it was that there was a case in my library for the MPT published in 1979 that was citing law from 1986 and 1999. Good work there, NCBEX.

Well crap.

It was the MEE I tried then. I don't pay much attention to alphabet soup stuff until it begins to affect me -- and it won't 'til next year.

I kind of hate waiting for results.

Why is it taking so long? I've been getting my ARE results in 3 weeks on the dot.

I think bar exam results take quite a while - I've heard similar stories from friends of mine who have taken it in CT, NY and MA.

I know for the Idaho and Washington bars people take them late July and get the results for Idaho in September, and the first week of October for Washington. If I remember right there are hand scored essay questions, which would account for the amount of time involved.

GeekyPenguin 08-28-2008 09:38 PM

Yeah, the cracked out thing is WI hand-scores all the essays the Thursday and Friday after the exam. I'm guessing it's just the MBE (and maybe MPT) scores that take so long. It's just frustrating and I don't really want to work at the mall anymore.

I PASSED. You all will too.
