I rarely trust anyone’s intentions regarding friendship and dating. I’ve been used and hurt by friends who only wanted a connection in Hollywood.

this breaks my heart :(

I agree, and IMVHO most others would as well.
However just look at all the hanger-ons you see around "public people".
Mike Tyson cames to mind rather quickly.
Some welcome it, some may "need it", some get used because it it.
And then you have those who understand, recognize what is going on and stop it.

^^^I remember all those stories printed right after his infamous fight. They interviewed him saying that his daughter was terrified of him because of all the things she heard about him (he was a vicious monster, he was going to bite her, etc.) and, at the time, she was little enough to believe it. That made me really sad for her, but how he acted afte made me not sad for him.

Do I want to be famous? No.

But, I love to perform and consider myself a performer by trade and teacher by nature. I love to sing. I love to bring people joy with my music. If I were to purusue my first love as a career, fame would most certainly be a side effect.

I love teaching, but damn I miss the stage.
