I can remember random conversations I have with people and some pretty random things I've done.. But things I NEED to remember, I can't remember for the life of me.
|
I'm fantastic at remembering birthdays. And genetics permit me to roll my tongue. :p
|
I also retain weird information about my exes.
|
I multitask like crazy. I can watch TV, surf the web, carry on a conversation, and knit simultaneously.
I can curl my tongue into a straw shape, and I can turn my tongue over. I'm over 30 and I can hear the Mosquito frequency. |

My useless skill is that I can remember patients' names for long periods of time. A month after I read an exam, if someone asks me about the patient, I usually say, "oh...that's the guy with the __________." And, I'm always right. |

skill
Not a strange skill at all KTSNAKE. Plato and those guys used to teach the ancient greeks that the balanced man would have an equal discipline in the Academics, Sports and Music. If the man concentrated too much on one of the disciplines he would lose balance. Your violin playing probably opened up a different side of the brain that people who are not exposed to music miss out on. You probably think better than the average geek or jock who is missing the science of Music.

According to my friends, I can flick my tongue faster than anyone they know. I don't plan on putting that skill to use, other than showing off, anytime soon...if ever. :p
Oh yeah, I can remember the year and season of almost all top 40 songs that came out after 1989. I remember almost everyone's birthday, without a calendar or anything. Like Nate, I have a poor memory for things I need to remember. |
I've got some weird traits and then I've got skills, but I can't think of any weird skills.
My hands are really small - like little kids hands. In middle school, I was the only kid in my science class that couldn't roll their tongue. Apparently I got that recessive trait. I studied ballet for 12 years and can still remember many of my dance routines, including all of the choreography from Swan Lake in which I was part of the swan corps. When I go to see that ballet, I have a tendency to "mark" the choreography with my hands as dancers do. ETA: Oh, I'm also apparently a natural at shooting all kinds of firearms, though because of my small hands I have a hard time loading clips. Ha. |

I can match just about any color on earth by mixing/blending paints. I can see something once, remember the color and recreate it nearly perfectly weeks later. If color copiers hadn't been invented I could have had a great job.
I can do the Star Trek hand sign thing (don't know what it's called...not a Trekkie) and alternate it with switching to pinky and index finger out. I can also do a really good imitation of a squealing pig. (yes, insert comment here.) Most people try to do it with their nose but it's actually a throat thing. Oh, I can also curl my tongue and flip it over, but only on one side. All completely useless. :p |
i'm not great with real time, but am good with counts, like music or counts to hold a stretch. In jr high, I was in band and never understood why we needed that timer thing (metranome?). I didn't realize that other people couldn't keep track of counts like me.
not completely useless, but I never use it. |
Let's see...
*I can wiggle my ears (not quite like Alfalfa but close :D). *I can wink each eye separately. *I can pick up a pencil with my toes and write with it. *I can spell/pronounce just about any word, even if I've never heard/seen it before. *I can make lots of animal noises, including a variety of dog barks. *My short term memory is horrible, but my long term is rockin'. I have a photgraphic memory, so if it makes it to LT, I'll remember every detail and not forget. The same thing with stuff set to a tune--I can remember just about every song I've ever learned, even ones I haven't heard in years. I remember lots of totally useless stuff though--one woman had to remember a list of things to win a game show I watched when I was like 7 and I remember 4 of the 6 things on the list. Why, I don't know. |

I can also raise each eyebrow independently of the other, just like Spock. |
