What about people who eat the placenta? TRUE!

midwesterngirl 06-09-2008 06:14 PM

When your child is old enough to tell you that he/she enjoys breastfeeding, you need to stop immediately.

Apparently breastmilk tastes better than mangos. I'd prefer mangos thank you very much!

That's what I started thinking about....I read somewhere that some people cook it and have a dinner party kind of thing to celebrate the birth of the child.

Mangos rock. Eat them almost everyday. :D

(I don't remember what breast milk tasted like. It was thankfully almost 3 decades ago. I imagine it served its purpose.)

O/T...

Over here, you can tell summer's near when you see the mango trees' first fruit.

My mom makes the best Pickled Mango in the summertime. It's always been my favorite afternoon snack!

Agreed

My hubby's mature reaction..."Oh, gross! That kid's a lesbian"

What does the girls' father think about this? How does he feel? Is there even a father in the picture? Or a father figure of some sort?

Not only it would produce an unhealthy attachment, but it is not enough nutrition for someone that age.

I highly doubt that the tit's the only source of food for that kid.

True, but still.

And many non-human animals eat the placenta after giving birth. That said, I do not know if human beings are designed or intended to do so. Placenta in shampoo turns me away enough as is.

Adults drinking human milk makes me think of "Roman Charity" and seems too much of a dire straits emergency situation for me to even consider it remotely sexual.

What is with the little girl sighing with happiness like she's sucking on a milkshake?

ETA: Crap, I just threw up in my mouth a little when I re-read that last bit. Sometimes I gross myself out. :(

When will parents learn that the best gift they can give to their children is the word "no?" Boundaries are key to a child's development. Children should not "choose" all aspects of their upbringing... this is what leads to older teens and young adults having a sense of entitlement to everything.

On another note- this girl is old enough that her peers/classmates could be aware of what is happening, as well as old enough to file the memory away. She could be ridiculed at school for many, many years over this.

For those who said that the mom is doing it for her own benefit- I could not agree more.
