There is no way someone would be "shamed out of school" at SDSU for dropping out of/ratting on a fraternity (or sorority for that matter). Such a small percentage of the school is greek and for all the people who aren't greek there, they couldn't care less about it.

I will assume that this type of thing happens on campuses where over 50% of the school is greek. At SDSU only about 10-15% are greek, at most.

And BRAVO for the kid telling people about what happened. Being a member of a fraternity/sorority is not worth giving up your life....IMHO.

Agreed! Being put in a chokehold that makes you unconscious, having money taken, etc.! -- allegedly. Doesn't sound brotherly to me.

. . . putting him in a chokehold that knocked him unconscious, SDSU spokesman Jack Beresford said. They bound the man with duct tape, forced beer down his throat and drove him around for 45 minutes before dropping him off on Mission Gorge Road, Beresford said.

“The person kidnapped felt in fear for his life,” he said.

His wallet was taken, and money was missing when it was retrieved, Beresford said. The fraternity member contacted university police.

Haha, not to knock TKE but I remember when I went through rush being told about Ron Jeremy being a TKE. It wasn't exactly a selling point. They never once mentioned Ronald Reagan which actually would have impressed me.

Yeah, thats the worst part about it. The fact that some guys believe it and think its cool and they brag about it to PNMs.

When I read this I immediately thought of HAMMER TIME!!! And then pictured MC Hammer dancing.

Where is that icon of Hammer dancing, anyway?

The chapter I was a sweetheart of had shirts about it that they wore during rush. One had a picture of Ronald Reagan and next to it was written "We put a man in the white house." Below it was a picture of Gerald Carr and written next to it was "We put a man in space." Below it was a picture of someone else and next to it was written "We put a man in (wherever that guy went). Below that one was a picture of Ron Jeremy and next to it was written "We put a man in over 4000 women." Then at the bottom it said "What can TKE do for you?"

There was another really awful one that they wore too... looking back, I can't believe I let them talk me into wearing them in public.

Oh! and the other one was a spin off of the Visa commercial. It had a picture of Ron Jeremy on the back and below it was written "TKE, we're everywhere you want to be."

All I can say is that initiated brother must be pretty much hated in his own house.

I thought the same thing.
