They should have used any of the names suggested by AKA Monet and xidelt in the "Sorority like this" thread!

That's really interesting that they would refer to themselves as the "Phi Mus" if Phi was the first letter, there was a letter in between, and then Mu.

Most 3-letter orgs typically go by the first two letters (e.g. Lambda Chi = Lambda Chi Alpha; Delta Sig = Delta Sigma Phi; etc). I know not all GLOs do that (like Pi Phi for instance), I just find it odd that they would do that and Phi Mu is actually a real organization.

Well Pi Beta Phi does go by Pi Phi.

And what does Kappa Alpha Theta go by? Theta.

I guess maybe I just don't see how Zeta Beta Zeta or Zeta Alpha Zeta = Zeta Tau Alpha just because they have the greek letter "Zeta" in it.

If anyone should be offended it should be the creators of Zeta Beta Zeta because Zeta ALPHA Zeta is WAY closer to that than it is to Zeta Tau Alpha :rolleyes:

I don't really see a problem with the movie from the trailer, it actually looks kinda funny!

Now, I know I may feel differently if they had a sorority called the Thetas or KATs.

I do think everything these days referencing Greeks has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Most of us here know that these are stereotypes (I hope we all know this) and we can usually get a good laugh out of it.

As for the documentary, I stopped watching after few minutes, it was just disgusting!

FYI, most Greeks were told to boycott Animal House, because it was "anti-Greek". Let's not push the panic button just yet.

Katharine McPhee plays a pregnant Zeta Alpha Zeta. Rumer Wilis (Demi and Bruce's and Ashton's kid) plays a ZAZ who's back problem has healed but can't let go of her very visible back brace. Kiely Williams from Cheetah Girls and 3LW plays an (ugh...:mad:) "Phi Mu" (Phi Iota Mu). The "Phi (Iota) Mus" are trying to kick ZAZ out of their house because their chapter is having major issues (recruitment and otherwise and they are social misfits). So you know these "Phi (Iota) Mus" aren't going to "represent" very well.

Lol well, on the bright side, at least they're depicting the "Phi Mus" as the hot sorority, as opposed to the social misfit one.

Uh-oh, the chapter houses they drive past in the beginning of the video looks suspiciously like Fraternity Row at Maryland, my alma mater. It looks kind of old though. Much of the student body DEFINITELY sounds like that (accent wise) at Maryland too....................

I saw a link, awhile ago, involving a Southern Chapter (not one of mine) in what I can only call INTERNET porn.
Not only were they and some of the girls wearing letters, they showed a printed invite. And that was in the first few minutes, after which I cleaned out my system with bleach.:eek:;)

While this is a piss-poor showing, IIRC I have seen a few better shows giving a better POV. On A&E or Discovery IIRC.
This one one started with an attitude and a rather clear agenda. Which would make one wonder just how much of it was on the up and up.
