Amy: How funny! My sister lives I think about 5 min. away from you!
BTW, I just came back from my SoCal trip a week ago. It was just a blast! Can you believe this, how shocking this might sound...I think I am more of a SoCal person than a NorCal person!! It was so refreshing to wear tanks and flip-flops everday...plus I got a mean tan (even tho i was wearing sunscreen)! You definitely don't get a tan living in SF...not even being outside everyday, year-round! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Plus, you get sick of wearing jackets out in the summertime http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif. I also visited USC on my college tours!! I can't tell you how MUCH I love the campus! Wow. My sister kids that it would be weird to have both a UCLA Bruin and a USC Trojan in the same family http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif. Oh well, if I get in, I definitely want to go to USC (also UCSB, since I also love that campus!). Too bad for my sis http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif! haha. Once I stepped onto USC, I felt at home, as strange as that sounds. I can't even explain it...it was just a feeling that I had. I guess I'm also a sucker for nice architecture! I can't wait to see the show Undeclared on Fox in the fall. My tour guide (she was awesome by the way) told us that the show was filmed at USC! BTW, the guys at the USC campus and SoCal in general are hot, hot, hot. Not that that's a key factor for me http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif. hehe. Alphachiohmy, glad that you loved California! See, now you know why it's one of the best places on earth http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif. Glad to have you back Newbie http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I wish I was the one getting a great tan http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Newbie!
Undeclared IS filmed at SC. And that is EXACTLY how I felt when I visited SC as a senior in high school. Email me and I'll tell you about financial aid and how you can afford it on any budget. I can't access my yahoo account from work, so response not as speedy as I like, but you have my IM, so IM me, and we'll talk about it. USC was a GREAT experience for me! I loved every minute of it and love the Trojan legacy that I am a part of. The school pride there is so incredible--and I think you get it, you felt it when you stepped onto the campus!!!! Fight On for old SC! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Amy |

Amy - exactly! Once I stepped onto the SC campus, something weird happened to me. I could just feel the pride that USC students have for their school, could understand why alumni connections are so strong, etc. I love the aspect of school pride, since my HS has none - everyone always has his head stuck in the books! I felt immediately relaxed at USC...and the people seem so cool http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. It was amazing to hear my tour guide talk about how those who didn't even attend USC have donated so much to SC! For example, Steven Spielberg, among others. And it was wonderful to hear about USC's job search "for life" (like if you decide to change your job in your 30's, you can always come back to USC at their career center!). It really DOES seem like USC is like a family! I've never felt that at other college visits...not even at UCSB, which I also loved. The only problems are: 1) how hard SC admissions is getting to be each year... 2) if I don't get financial aid, I'm going to be putting my parents in serious debt when I graduate! 3) my parents don't like SC as much as the UCs http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif (cost + neighborhood), and of course you know about my sister http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif Well, anyway, I REALLY want to go to USC! I'm going to try my hardest with the SAT, since my GPA is lower than most who will be applying. Ahhh...I really want to be a Trojan! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif [This message has been edited by newbie (edited August 17, 2001).] |
