I also thought she was supporting the premise of the article because she quoted it.

But I guess she quoted it in reference to Chi O and Sarah. Good luck to all of these candidates and let the best person win, ignoring all the silly diversion tactics.

No, if anything I hope the crazy campus paper's editorial endorsement won't hurt her chances!

You think that is "wacky", come spend a day with my in Amherst.

This week's Amherst controversy is the town allowing anti-war and anti-military marchers and floats in the Memorial Day parade.

Let me say that again: This week's Amherst controversy is the town allowing anti-war and ANTI-MILITARY marchers and floats in the MEMORIAL DAY parade.

Sheesh... that's like allowing the Rev. Fred Phelps to take part in a gay pride parade!

What a stupid article. Don't vote for these two guys because they're members of the same organization! Oh no! Next thing you know the president AND vice-president of the United States of America will both be from the SAME PARTY!

Hey, maybe someone should have stepped up and ran against the brother who is running UNOPPOSED. To say that the beliefs stated on the international fraternity website suggest that non-Christian students will feel alienated is ridiculous. For all we know the Chi Omega candidate (and Chi Omega is an organization I have much respect for) is a Christian herself. Who wrote this article? The ACLU people who protested the boy scouts from meeting in parks, but supported the American Nazi Party's right to do the same?

Thank you, now can we get back to something to do with LXA!

Nutbrnhair as you said, YOU are always welcome!

Don't be passive aggressive, Tom Earp.

Everyone's always welcome until forums become invite only. ;)

You are correct, but it would be nice if others felt the same way?

Right?

Can you actually deny that?

Good news, we all agreed that this is a wacky article. :)

TRUE!:)

But, it seemed to be a big topic to some who are not members of LXA, or was I wrong?

Cube TX 04-08-2008 10:41 PM

Very true, but as a Lambda Chi Alpha myself I wasn't too happy reading an article that came across as derogatory toward an organization I love.

boz130 04-08-2008 11:19 PM

Guys: As has already been pointed out, this was an editorial, not a news piece. By its very nature, it's meant to be subjective. At various schools it's SOP to have non-Greeks cover the GLOs so that there won't be any favoritism.

While having someone outside of the Greek realm covering the fraternity/sorority beat makes sense, it can be a detriment because they don't understand how our organizations work. In this case, they don't realize that we're already acquainted w/how a governing body works and might actually have a clue on how to handle political situations.
