Ok, obviously I'm not a guy http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif but personally, heavy make-up always disgusted me. When I was in middle school there was one girl who always wore heavy blue eyeshadow, bright red lipstick, rouge, the works, and probably used a full bottle of hairspray every morning. I did wear makeup in high school, but I soon decided it wasn't worth the bother of "putting your face on" every morning. It takes a lot of time to do it right! Now, I wear lipstick when I go out for a nice dinner etc, but 99.9% of the time I wear no makeup - and that works well for me. |

Correction, as a guy I'll tell you we love it when you look good! We actually don't care how much make-up you are wearing as long as it doesn't look like a lot of make-up. Which ofcourse means you wouldn't look good. But you can get away (so I understand) with a lot of make-up if you are good at putting it on.
I saw this lady once that I was really impressed with, and I commented later to some of my girl-pals that she looked awesome and she wasn't wearing any (or at least not much) make-up. They responded that she was wearing a [b]a lot[/b} of make-up but was good enough at it that it wasn't obvious. I wasn't sure if they were being honest or whether the claws were coming out, "saucer of milk table 1". I have noticed that you ladies aren't always really nice to eachother . . . They went on to say that if make-up is done correctly you really don't notice it directly, it just creates an alluring affect. Is this all true? |

definatly depends on the girl and the guy.
I personally think I look good with some make-up on. I don't 'paint' my face though. I rarely wear make-up though. Like someone else said--I hate the 'get ready' process. Not to toot my own horn, but I have fairly even skin tone that's pretty healthy--so if I wear make-up, it's a dusting of blush (because my skin is very fair), some mascara, and a lip gloss. For more 'extravagant' situations I do the whole foundation, eyeliner, lipliner, powder thing--but I always stick with classic colors and don't cake it on. Some women look radient with just a lip gloss and some mascara, some women look great when they do the whole shebang. It really depends on what they look like, what skin tone they have, etc. It depends on the guy because they all obviously have different perspectives. My fiancee says (key word--says) that he prefers me not to wear make up--he says I have a 'glow'--but he's partial. We have a very open relationship and both believe in the 'look but don't touch' theory so when he tells me he thinks 'the woman at the other grocery store line' is good looking, or the 'girl across the bar' looks nice--they usually have make-up on--but he always tells me he prefers my 'glow'. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif |

If it makes the girl look "hotter" (by whatever arbitrary standards the guy is using at the time), that's what we like. For many girls, it is very little make-up, and for many others it's the full-blown, start-getting-ready-at-noon make-up job. Whatever makes you look better, that's what the guys will go for. Remember - visual stimuli is key for men (see: internet porn, Maxim magazine, popularity of Britney Spears). That said - i think it's really nice for her to look amazing first thing in the morning, in pajamas and all dissheveled, sans makeup . . . |
