This comparison is pretty dumb to me. All I see is LeBron James w/ a basketball and a white lady. I really don't see how people can compare him to King Kong.

Don't think racist...just poor judgement
I am happy that a black man finally graced the cover of Vogue but I do think the cover itself was in poor taste. Especial for someone who is known to look very GQish in suits...that should have been the chosen attire for the cover of a fashion mag. lol, I'm mad the female is even wearing the same color dress! Check it out...

Did anyone see his SNL Solid Gold skit? LOL.
Poised in a suit with a basketball in his hand would've worked because readers who don't know who he is would've been able to figure it out. They made it into a borderline Sports Illustrated cover. |
I heard on the radio yesterday that LeBron said he was fine with the cover. I'm not as bothered now that I've seen the other photos from the article.

I really liked the one of them in black and white (him sitting/she on his shoulder). That one would have been a great cover. Better than the hot mess that they chose.

I think the cover is in poor taste. It is great that he is the first black male on the cover of Vogue, but it would have been better if he better represented our race. I think sometimes we get too excited on marking a milestone that we forget the importance of doing it right the thing by giving a positive representation of ourselves.
