This is scary. It seems like since VT last year, the number of these events keep soaring. Eve and Lauren's family and friends are both in my prayers.

WarEagle, I agree with you.

I just found this out. One of my best friends was friends with her in high school. I just can't believe all of this is happening. As I told him, it makes me want to hug everybody that I love and tell them so.

This is just heartbreaking. My thoughts are with her family and friends. She seemed like an amazing woman.

My heart just aches for the family and friends of these poor college students.

This is terrible...what the hell is going on? Why are all of these tragedies happening all of a sudden?

ShyViolet 03-07-2008 12:12 PM

This is so sad... :( My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. What a tragedy.

I believe I remember Eve saying her mother was a professor or an administrator at UGA as well.

Never in a MILLION years would I believe this would happen in Chapel Hill, especially in that part of town, and so close to campus. All friends of mine who have graduated from and those who are still attending UNC have called me and have expressed their sadness. I pray for the family, students, faculty and the university that is so very close to my heart.

She seemed like a young woman who was destined for special success in her life. Tragic loss to her family, her friends, and the UNC student body.

God Bless her soul, and may angels be with her family.

They have released photos of the creep who is using her ATM card, and is currently considered a suspect:

The story said that police aren't sure if that is her car. She owned a Highlander, and that is exactly what my Highlander looks like on the inside.

All Campus tragedies are horrible, but this one stuck a cord with me. I was watching Headline News when I heard about it and they showed footage of her in Student Government. I was an officer in my University's student government, so it hit home. By reading about her you can defiantly tell that she had a heart for her fellow students, and that is the best trait a student government officer can have.

Even though I'm not a big UNC fan as I am a Duke fan, I completely respect what Duke did tonight before the game and what the UNC team has on their jerseys.

Duke had a moment of silence and UNC has a black circle with Eve's name in it in Carolina Blue.

and a TON of coaches and fans and all the guys on college gameday have on a carolina blue ribbon

yeah- i have been watching the game too.

At one point they said that "everyone" in the arena was wearing a light blue ribbon. As they paned through the Duke student section, alumni sections, coaches, ESPN booth, etc., it was evident that everyone was indeed wearing one.

Later they panned to Peyton and Eli Manning (of, um, SECdom, but whatever) in the crowd, but no ribbons. That was a little disapointing. I know the ribbon wasn't required, but it would have been a nice thing for them to do.

God, look at that SMUG look on his face. I hope someone beats it off him.

What a sad, horrible story. It's a tragic loss to the society that was around her, I'd say.
