Yea, this seems like a big ol' joke to me.

That's sad.

I also checked out the Beaux/Gent website and found a lot of errors. Quality control, people!

DSTCHAOS 02-17-2008 02:16 AM

Yikes.

Senusret I 02-17-2008 02:20 AM

Yes, you may be a multicultural coeducational GLO and you may possibly have been founded before them. But are you a Fraternity Sorority Society? They are the FIRST Multicultural Fraternity Sorority Society. :p

Does this mean they were founded in the 1980s or 1990s?

There is a pic showing the IBM typewriter from which their standards were typed in 1981. So I think you hit it on the head.

Ignoring the quality control issues of this post, were you founded as a co-ed organization? That is part of their claim to fame.

I was so totally confused by the whole website. Why were there dolphins and pictures that looked like Egyptian symbols? Why are their colors one thing, but they have shades as well. I'm going to take a B.C.

Drolefille 02-17-2008 05:35 PM

They claim the concept of fraternity, goes back to "Kemet" which is Ancient Egypt.

I got nothin on that except that as far back as civilization goes there have been clans of people who were first blood related, and then culturally related, and then in larger society tied by bonds of profession, brotherhood, vows, etc. I don't know if they're operating off of that sort of logic or anything more specific.

Dolphins... they're pretty?

The dolphin is their symbolic mascot. I didn't get the shades thing either.
