My heart goes out to them.

Sad and scary...

I have a lot of friends who went to NIU. Thoughts and prayers out to the whole NIU community, and to our Eta Chapter Alpha Phi Omega Brothers.

Scandia 02-14-2008 07:38 PM

It is almost as if there were an epidemic of shootings.

Or should I say pandemic? After all, there was a school shooting in Finland last year.

So sad.

RedRoseSAI 02-14-2008 07:54 PM

As a proud NIU alumna, this hits way too close to home. I had several classes in the lecture hall where the shooting occured. I can't believe this happened...

AKA_Monet 02-14-2008 08:05 PM

So sorry for the loved ones in that area...

My heart skipped a beat when I heard this! I hope recovers from their injuries! My aunt is an Alpha Delta Pi alum from NIU. My thoughts and prayers go out to them!

There's at least one GC ADPi at NIU. Hopefully, she's not involved.

ETA: The one sister has graduated already (thank you, Lord!). There's another I haven't heard about yet, though. ThetaGirl218, your poor aunt must be horrified - as are we all!!

I sent an e-mail to my chapter there and have yet to receive a reply.

My aunt is proud ADPi alum at NIU! My whole family felt this one! My prayers go out to those affected!

Proverbs31 02-15-2008 01:18 AM

My cousin attends school there and was in the library when they put the campus on lock down. I pray for the families of those students. :(

Sister Havana 02-15-2008 01:28 AM

The first victim has been identified. Dan Parmenter was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha.

Phrozen1ne 02-15-2008 01:43 AM

As a former N.I.U. Huskie this hits too close to home!

This is the 4th incident in the last 2wks involving individuals shooting people in schools!

KSUViolet06 02-15-2008 02:31 AM

This is so sad.

I know we have a chapter there and I'm hoping the girls are all safe and accounted for.

Aye, this is very distressing. I don't get a lot of news from back home over here, but this past week, I found out the guy who shot and killed 2 Robert Morris University students in PA about two weeks ago was a high school classmate and close acquaintance. :( :(
