Aren't you seeking membership so that you can serve the community, develop your leadership skills, etc.? Don't you know that an organization is bigger than just the chapter you are trying to join?

Also, have you considered WHY they are making fun of you? Take some responsibility in the situation.

one of the most important things is to be friends with your pledge bros. mainly because you will know them for the next 4 years if not more. if you really dont like them, dont pledge the fraternity.

This bears repeating.

There are several people in my organization that I don't particularly like, but I didn't pledge my class/chapter; I pledged Omega Delta Phi.

Your advice would make sense if a person was only allowed to interact with people of his/her pledge class, but that's not how it works.

When most people become members of an organization, they branch out and get to know the rest of the chapter (not to mention members from other chapters). Some of my closest sisters are from pledge classes or chapters other than my own.

im not saying that a pledge would only be allowed to talk to his or her pledge class, what iam saying, is that you can become friends with a senior but when he or she leaves you wont be seeing them as much. but with pledges(most of whom are your age, especially if your a freshman) you will have to interact with them for a long time.

^Based on the fact that the OP used the term "cross," he is not likely pursuing a NIC/IFC fraternity, and I think that is what some people are not seeing in this thread. The OP should be pursuing membership for much, much more than friendship.

Co-sign. And even if it is an NIC/IFC fraternity, he should still be pursuing the organization for more.

Why would you join a fraternity if nobody likes you? Are you a freshman? Consider making your own fraternity, even if for just shits and giggles. I've witnessed people do it and often times their parties, values and quality of men is much better than any national organization with Greek letters.
