I saw this on Saturday. I would have liked it if I'd taken a dramamine beforehand. The camera was so shaky I was nauseous and had to look away for a lot of it. It was interesting in concept but so-so in actuality.

A thousand times yes. The BF said that a lot of girls sitting around us had their eyes closed just like me because they too looked nauseous.

I threw up in the theater when I saw the Blair Witch Project.

At least I waited till we got back to the car this time.

I saw it last night and I really liked it. Im a fan of LOST (and therefore, JJ Abrams) so I half expected it to leave the audience hanging with unanswered questions, which it kind of did. But I would see it again..mostly so I can catch all the details I missed.

There's as much, if not more, speculation about Cloverfield as there is Lost. There are backstories everywhere. Each character has their own myspace, as if they're real people, talking about going to the party etc, etc.

This company that Rob is going to work for found this 'nectar' at the bottom of the ocean. They put it into this drink called Slusho, and it just makes people crazy happy. They give it to low wage workers, etc. Someone in the movie was wearing a Slusho shirt, but I forget who. Some people speculate that this nectar comes from the monster or its eggs and it only kills the people that have had it [ie, why wasn't Marlena eaten when she was out in the street? Why was Hud chewed up and not Rob or Beth?]

The Tagruato company has 14 stations. 14 monsters maybe? ;)

Jamie [of jamieandteddy.com] was the passed out blonde on the couch at the party.

a friend reported that he thought the movie was just awful and that he laughed out loud as the movie was coming to a close, because it was so absurd.

JJ Abrams said, "How do you know we didn't shoot two movies at once?"

I think it should be left alone. No sequels please.

MandyPepperidge 01-24-2008 12:28 AM

More like Cloverrated.

SoEnchanting 01-26-2008 02:35 AM

I thought it was really good!

And I like all the backstories. I thought of the movie as a suspense-thriller under the guise of a sci-fi movie, and from that point of view I felt it delivered. I anticipate there will be sequels, and I can't wait!

I saw it last night and I liked it a lot! Some of it was kind of silly (because of Hud) but it was realistic to me.

Great movie. Bad ending.

Senusret I 04-10-2008 10:59 AM

I honestly felt the ending was perfect for the type of film it was.
