I usually just take off if i'm sick... but I'm sick a lot, so that happens a lot.

Or... when I'm really hungover....

I've taken off when I've wanted to go upstate to visit my sorority too :p

I've never actually called out sick when I am sick - if I'm contagious or would be disruptive to co-workers (sniffling, sneezing) then I just work from home.

But, my fiance and I occasionally call out sick together to spend the day downtown, going to a movie, or just hanging out at home. Its nice to have those little "us" days. :)

I call in sick to spend an extra day with my boyfriend who lives in another city

working with kids, I find pink eye is a good way to get out of work. I open my sick, so if I want a day off, I either have to plan it in advance( so someone can open the school and cover my class) or I have to go in sick, wait till another teacher gets there before going back home

I was once tempted to call in sick to work when the night before I went to the emergency room with chest pains. Turns out they were just spasms- EKG said everything was normal. Tempting to skip work, but decided to go.

Also tempted to call in the day after my apartment flooded. I only had 5 hours of sleep and the carpet was still damp. But I went to work and told people why I was more irritable than usual. People said "you're always in a good mood", and nothing happened that made me overreact, but I was still quite sleepy and upset that day.

But this past Wednesday I just could not have made it. It was not just the sneezing, fevers, and body aches. I was actually quite dizzy for most of the day.

Overbookings of our crazy and really dumb patients.

We had a parent come in yesterday who thought it was a good idea to put red bull on their 6 month old's pacifier!!!!!! Why would anyone do that?!?!?!

Called in sick, I heard waves were really great, and they were. But the weather was changing, and I developed a chill driving home, long hair takes a long time to dry and then caught a really bad cold. I felt guilty and worked sick.

Although I've only actually been sick one time this year, I have called in "sick" just for mental health purposes. I just needed a break from my team and my manager.

At a past job that involved customer service, I'd take a "mental health" day at least 1x a month. It was just that bad.

I don't think this thread is about denial; it's celebrating the funny reasons people make up so they don't have to go to work. Come on, you know you have a reason why you didn't want to go to work...

Kathy, you're cute, ignore her, she's back to her trolling ways, I guess she misses the attention, let's keep starving her...

lolz. I think this thread needs a cat in it, right about now.

Remember, Allona is a "real boy", and may be Sedrick in disguise

kathykd2005 12-23-2007 11:26 PM

haha you just made me think of pinnochio.

Benzgirl 12-24-2007 12:52 AM

I know you are a "real boy". And, if you go away, I won't be mean to you because I won't have to tell you to go away.
How old are you anyways? My guess is 12 or 13. Am I close?
