You know...I used this question on some pledges one time...And one of them was a Biology major....God... that was a long day...... |

ETA: I think you're going to say the answer is one. |

Hokay. If you're talking about the word "bulls" (plural) there are four. If you're talking about the word "Bull" (singular and plural) there are eight. If you're talking about the male species of bovine, there are five. Female bovine that have had a calf are Cows. Male calves are still considered bulls (until they get their testes snipped, thereafter they are considered steers.) And I'm most impressed that cow had four calves. And lived. And all her calves lived. Must have been rough with one at each teat for the first few months. |
I don't know how many bulls there are but there is sure a heck of a lot of bull sh*t
|
webster.com defines a bull as: an adult uncastrated male domestic bovine
so there is ONE and only one bull. There is no such thing as a baby bull, it's a calf (or in my preference veal :D). The girl is obviously excluded because she has a vagina and doesn't qualify! |

Hehehe....I have been telling that riddle for 15 years and still it takes 'forever' for people to get that right.......LOL |

So my instinct was right about you saying the answer is one, but I don't agree. No matter what webster.com says. I still stand by my statement that male calves can also be [informally] called bulls, as that's how my dad, who has been raising beef cattle for 50+ years calls them. Neener. And I realize it's ridiculous I'm so annoyed by this, but I am. |

And I asked the hub, who also grew up on a farm, and he said one. So obviously I'm dumb. |

Any adult (bovine, elk, moose, elephant...etc) is a bull...when you are considering young....a bull more than likely is used to differentiate between the sexes. I didn't grow up on a farm ;) Don't be annoyed....like I said 15 years and I watched all kinds of people get frustrated with that riddle....hehehe. BTW...this came up from a dispute I had with my biology teacher over the same issue....LOL. He tried to tell me the same thing until we looked it up. |
Ok....new riddle:
What does a diamond become when it is placed in water? |
wet? I feel like I've heard that one before...
