Just a little trivia: there was a period in Delta's history where instead of city-wide chapters we had mixed chapters based in a city. They comprised collegiates and alumnae. Most if not all had greek letter names, and some had single letter designations, e.g., Iota in Boston
Then it was decided to make chapters either all alumnae or all collegiate. The alumnae chapters then received the designation of Sigma after their greek letter name. Finally it was decided to designate all alumnae chapters by geographic names and collegiates with greek letters. Thus some chapter names were reassigned. |
