Yay Sigma and Mizzou! I'm excited to read and keep up with how things are going!
|
Here's the recruitment schedule from our website:
Open House: Monday, September 8, 2008 Philanthropy/Service: Tuesday, September 9, 2008 Preference Party: Wednesday, September 10, 2008 Bid Distribution: Friday, September 12, 2008 |
Bid day is today for the colony. I do know that there were over 250 women participating, but I don't know how many bids will be extended today.
|
Any word yet on how many colony members are now at Mizzou?
|
I think it's around 140 or 150 so far, but they are still recruiting, so it's not the final number. They're working hard out there and doing an amazing job!
|
Thanks for the update! :D
|
Wait, you are saying that there are about 140 pledging at Mizzou???

I'll be sure to update if I hear something official. |
That is correct! 140 women accepted invitations to join during the formal recruitment process, and they are still conducting interviews with PNMs, so that number is likely to rise by the end of the week.
|
Hey everyone. I am part of that Mizzou Tri sigma Colony. We have around 140 girls and there are still more getting bids.

I was at the game on Saturday at Mizzou, looking for some new Sigma Sisters, ran into the sisters from Stephen's college and they were so excited to be new members.
Keep wearing that purple. still wearing purple after all these years!!!:o |
yay!
140 girls?! That's outstanding! I'm not familiar with that campus but is 140 the typical chapter amount? I remember how amazing it was to colonize with 35 girls, I can only imagine the excitement of 140! Snaps to everyone involved with making this such a success! I can't wait to read and see pictures in an upcoming Triangle!
SigmaShelly, isn't it just the best running into sisters from different chapters, and especially new members? (Although I do think that some of us alumna still retain that NM glow all these years later -wink) |
Total on that campus is 170, but average campus size is 225. We are hoping to get the colony at a competitive level by the end of the year, with a potential installation in January. :)
It IS exciting! The colony is fabulous and I can't wait to see how everyone does in the future! |
Most of the sororities at Mizzou have been there forever.. like early 1900's.
I think the newest was Kappa Delta in the 70's. This is fantastic. Enrollment is up with freshman this year (thanks to the football team) and I want to think because of Sigma!!!! still wearing purple after all these years!!! |
