I forgot the other quintessential Irish Rovers song - Wasn't That a Party ("Could have been the whiskey, might have been the gin, could of have been the 3, 4 6-pack, I don't know, but look at the mess I'm in. My head is like a football, I think I'm gonna die, saying me-oh me-oh my, wasn't that a party...") |
The favorites when I was in school were "Why Don't We Get Drunk (and Screw)" and "You Never Even Called Me by My Name (The Perfect Country and Western Song)", which is one of my all-time favorites. At a bar that played oldies..."Mack the Knife" and "My Girl". Gawd, I'm old.

No fighter squadron bar - ahem, 'heritage room' is complete with a bunch of drunken fighter jocks singing:
Glorious, Victorious Throw A Nickel In The Grass (Save A Fighter Pilot's Ass) The list degenerates from there... :D |
[QUOTE=MysticCat;1535262]When I read the thread title, I figured that was the catagory -- Irish and British pub songs. Pub=British/Irish to me, while bar=American.
I'll add these pub songs to the list: She Was Poor but She Was Honest I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts My Old Man's a Dustman QUOTE] I honestly didn't think anyone else out in GreekChat land would know these songs. |
