I think that there is a thread on this topic in our forum, it is a couple of pages back. |
I'm a librarian. I've worked as a special librarian (for a national nonprofit org) as well as an academic librarian (@ 2 major research universities).
I currently work in a county public law library. It's usually depressing and occasionally rewarding. When I started the job I interacted mostly with the law clerks, attorneys who regularly practice in this county, and a judge here or there. Although we have several clinics and outreach organizations on site - somehow word got out that *gasp* someone in the library actually takes the time to help you... so most of my clients are here because they've been given the runaround and just want to talk to someone who can point them in the right direction. Also we get those who can't afford attorneys and/or the ones who feel they can represent themselves. *i don't give advice tho...* |
I'm a government contractor - more specifically, I work on a project for Customs & Border Protection, and train government agencies how to integrate into our new program dealing with imports/exports.

I handle all of the advertising & marketing for a high end real estate firm in Memphis. It fits right in with what I've said I wanted to do... but who knows for how long! Good experience though and I generally like everyone I work with though, so that's good. Just have the desire to "do more" I suppose.

I'm an Office Manger. I do the accounting for a plumbing contracting business, and I play mommy to 15 plumbers all day long. They whine more than my 3 year old.

I'm a mom and a Philosophy prof.

I work in the Advancement office of an independent, all-girls school in Vancouver (my old school). I am the Events Coordinator, Young Alumnae Relations Officer, and while the admin assistant is on mat leave, I'm doing that too.
I love what I do, love where I work, love the people I work with, and the 7 or so weeks of vacation I get each year is the icing on the cake. |

Water Resource Specialist. Mostly I work in a recharge program, adding water to the aquifer that otherwise would be wasted so that we may, ya know, have water in the arid desert in the future. I also get to play with GIS.
I don't work 9-5... I'm on 7am-430pm. It sucks most of the time.n |
DolphinChicaDDD...love your siggy...my husband sings that all the time!

Oh-sorry...To answer everyone's question-the comment was made by her under Greek Life called "Drop or be persistent"....She stated she took her kids to fraternity parties, etc. so, I told her that as a caseworker for Children & Youth I would be knocking on her door if I lived in her county....hope that clears everything up for everyone!

I'm an ICU nurse at a huge hospital here in Houston. I work 6:45 am-7:30 pm. I'm underpaid and under appreciated!! :D I've gotten body fluids on me that would make you cringe. I get to boss the residents on our floor around, and we often get screamed at by families who think we aren't doing our job (hey, it's because I did my job that your nana still has a heartbeat!!)
We get alot of folks we can't save which is really hard. But I love my job, I love what I do, and even though I come home swearing I'm going to do something else , I never would! |
