I agree. It is so important to just enjoy college. You don't get a "do over" of college.

I have reached my decision. I will not be going through recruitment this upcoming semester. I know it hurts me, because I wanted it so badly and it's in my heart (not to sound desperate or to be one of those stalkers PNMs). However, it's time for me to move on. Maybe I just wasn't good enough to get in. I have the grades and everything. Not to sound bitter and rude, but if they don't want me, then there is no point of me trying again.

Thanks, everyone. You all tried your best to help me. If you guys want to send me a PM, please feel free.

Everyone here certainly respects your decision, as only you know what's best for you. Best of luck to you in the rest of your college career hun.

Sunnyhibiscus - I think you are probably doing the right thing in deciding not to participate in recruitment but NEVER tell yourself you are not good enough. Being good enough has nothing to do with it. It is easy to fall through the crack during recruitment and then it is very hard to get a bid after that. My HS BFF is at UGA and was cut by everybody when I thought she would have the top chapters fighting over her. It has taken her about a year to get over it but now she is fine. Another thing to remenber is that if your college is like most others most of the students are not greek and they get along just fine. Make non greek friends and become involved in non greek activities, move on and leave the greek thing behind. Take it from me, it looks a lot better from the outside than it does from the inside.

I know we're trying to be encouraging here be all "there's more to college than sororities" (and don't get me wrong- there is), but I'm going to disagree with this, as I don't think it's fair to say that (esp. if you're Greek yourself). Greek Life really was (and still is) an amazing experience for me (and it defintely lived up to what I saw on the outside).

I may not in a sorority, but I'm going to have to disagree with this. I admire the sororities from where I attend school. They do a lot of good things. For example, I've attended one of the sororities fashion show for a special cause and I had fun. Second, one of my friends is in a sorority and she went to spring break in Florida and from looking at those pics, and she had fun. And like, I have said before, the sisters that I have talked to (including my ex-roommate) had enjoyed themselves.
