If you are open minded to movies that are not quite as new, Primal Fear is a great movie with a twist. The Usual Suspects with "Kaiser Sose" was pretty good too (watch the movie and you'll see what we're getting at).
A terrific old movie is Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte with Bette Davis and also the original Psycho in black and white was very SCARY! Much more scary than the remake with Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche. I saw Mission Impossible 2, but was disappointed. |
"Shaft" was beautiful. Everybody needs to see that. - I'm an X-man fan and I plan on going see it on my B-Day (July 16th ya'll, don't forget! What's up and happy birthday to all my cute Cancers out there!) Can't wait for Scary Movies. Marlon is such a cutie pie! Oh, Dogma was a very interesting movie (it gets a little sacreligious at times though). But if you love Chris Rock, then anything is forgivable.

You know, when I saw Dogma I thought the same thing at first, but when I saw it again on video, it makes some really interesting points about faith and religion. On the surface, it was just a funny movie, but it was actully pretty deep. (Chris Rock stole the show, too!) Usual Suspects-Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time, but if you do watch it you have to actually watch. If you half watch it and chat and do other things when you are watching it, you aren't going to like it. ZetaAce [This message has been edited by ZetaAce (edited July 07, 2000).] |
Hey Zeta Ace!-
I want to see X-Men too. But I thought I had heard a long time ago that Angela Bassett was going to play Storm. Since you know movie trivia, I'd thought I ask you!! |
I am an X-men fan too and I cannot wait to see this movie. Angela Bassett?? Angela, is a highly talented African American actress, but Halle Berry as storm probably makes more sense. They made her look just like Storm!
I thought Dinosaur was a cute movie. [This message has been edited by Wynna (edited July 07, 2000).] |
Speaking of being a "Blockbuster Queen", several movies that my hubby and I have rented lately and enjoyed (or at least I enjoyed them), were.
1."American Beauty" (Kevin Spacey) 2."Boy's Don't Cry" (with Hillary Swank) 3."The Insiders" (Al Pacino) Next Friday was so-so for laughs, although I liked the original one much better, and ANYTHING with Nia Long and Samuel L.Jackson (they're my favorite actors). |
C&C- Originally Angela Basset was supposed to play storm but she backed out and they got Halle Berry to play storm.
Yes, she looks more like the Storm character, but Storm is BUFF! (Like Angella Basset) and she's powerful. When I think of Halle Berry, she just seems more fragile. I've never been a big Halle Berry fan, (especially after I saw B.A.P.S) so I might be a little bit biased. (Exception: She was excellent in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge) ZetaAce |
I'm also one to make it a Blockbuster night. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Here are some of my favorites:
Sarafina with Whoppi Goldberg Dogma with Matt Damon, Ben Aflect, and Chris Rock America History X (I can't remember the actor's offhand) Deep Blue Sea with LL Cool J Anything with Will Smith, Nicholas Cage, or Samuel L. Jackson ------------------ Sincerity, Loyalty, Unity Sigma Lambda Upsilon: Hasta La Muerte! |
Dang! Y'all are so lucky. Talking about which movies out of the abundant choices you have to go see. And I'm stuck in Korea where movie releases are like 4 months behind the US and only 1/2 of even the most popular movies find their way to Korea. Can't wait to get back to the US. I didn't even *know* there was a Shaft (or any of those movie titles all y'all named) coming out!
Is this on topic for greek chat? whatever. anyway, you all can have marlon because, funny though he is, I am not blind. and chris rock as a husband? well, i guess personality must be the leading factor http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
I have to agree that there is something about Chris Tucker. He is somewhat "juicy". Marlon is the BOMB!!! Shawn's shirts are too tight. I don;t tend to like that in a brothah. Samuel Jackson, I don't know. I hust remember him as Gator in Jungle Fever and I go hmmmm. He has come a looooooong way since then but I remember the bug eyes and the dancin' he weould do for the carck hits. Halle Berry was crazy looking in that one too.
Back to movies... I have seen most of the ones on video. Edward Norton is the guy in AMerican History X and Primal Fear. He had BODY in American History ( how I concentrated on that while he was playing a Neo-Nazi Skinhead...who knows). I would like to see Sliding Doors and I tried to watch Fallen but I kept "fallen" asleep so I don't know what happens. My mom rented Green Mile and I will say it was GOOD!! I was hesitant to see all the "yessa bossa"-ness but it turned out to be good. Thanks to everyone for their replies. Zeta Ace DO NOT forget about the movie review for Scary Movie. PEACE ALL!!! |

Did you hear Samuel Jackson give a shout out to you all when he answered the phone in the movie? He did his little YOO-YOOO but I was not sure if he was a kappa or not but, I guess so. Pinkice9 |
My future husband is CHRIS TUCKER, not Chris Rock!
I am a Cancer also, my birthday is JULY 19!!!!! Please make checks payable to....just kidding, http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Deltabrat (and anyone else):
Do you remember Samuel L's cameo in "Coming to America"? I watched it recently and was like, "man, he's come a loooong way!" The man is bad!!! |
Hello All! I just came back from seeing Scarey Movie. It was pretty funny (not side-splitting), but darn funny nonetheless. If you liked "Road Trip" and "American Pie", you'll love this flick. What amazes me is how they got away with an R-rating. It should have been NC-17 if not borderline X-rated. I lie to you not, there was very life-like testicles and penises hanging (can I say those words here?!?) In one scene, there's more cum (I definitely don't think I can say that word), than all of us in this forum alone have seen. If you don't mind gross stuff like this, then I recommend the movie! For the record, marlon is very cute, but I think Shawn is sexier in a more mature, handsome way. I do agree, however, that the tight shirts must go!

Two thumbs up for SCAREY MOVIE! It was pretty funny, not side-splitting, but dam funny. If you liked "American Pie" and "Road Trip", you'll love this one! There are some BUCK WILD, GROSS ASS scenes but if you don't mind Testicles, Penises being thrust in odd body parts, and semen gushers...then this is the right flick for for you!
