There is no guarantee that you are placed on the top bid list if you receive an invitation to pref.

My opinion may not be worth much..but food for thought. My daughter went through rush at UGA. Myself and my 2 sisters were Chi O's there. My daughter's paternal grandmother was also a Chi O. She was cut after round 2. That makes 35 minutes that my chapter got to know her. I don't believe that legacy means what it used to. Serious consideration..I do not think so. We are from out of state and she did not know anyone in the chapter, however I expected more consideration from the chapter that myself and my sisters before me were a part of. Sometimes I think these girls need to realize if it were not for the alumni before them they would not be there today. While I realize that their were probably many legacies going through, I would bet that no girl had 3 UGA legacies. I have supported my chapter throughout my alumni years and I feel badly that this happened. I am working through my hurt and anger, but to all the mothers out their it is hard when that hurt is put upon our children. My daughter grew up knowing Chi O and greek life. Luckily for me she has picked her self up and is getting involved in many UGA activities that in the long run will help her in life. I am sad though as I so wanted her to experience the sisterhood that I had.

hollywin -- I think in a situation like yours it is hard because I would imagine several hundred women go through rush at UGA, and a good chuck of them are legacies/double legacies/whatever to one or more chapters.

There is a finite number of spaces, and if that school uses release figures, they have to draw the line somewhere. They can't invite all 1300 legacies to pref.

To the OP -- your answer has been given by NutBrwnHair. Please respect her answer and move on.

Hollywin: I am sorry for your daughter's result and the unhappy situation for your family. Writing recs every summer for so many girls heading to schools like UGA, many of whom are double and triple chapter legacies, I see the competition is tough out there. But it doesn't invalidate your disappointment or hurt feelings that she will not share the Chi O experience you had. I agree that "serious consideration" leaves a lot of discretion to a room full of 18-21 year olds. I hope your daughter finds other avenues of support and fun at UGA--any possibility she could try again or is she done?
