I feel like I should just note that even though it's not exactly a competitive school, recruitment wasn't run very well last year. They actually encouraged girls to suicide bid and stuff, and like, 1/2 the girls who went through didn't end up in houses, so it was a bad situation for everyone. :(

In that case, if 50% of the women who preffed didn't receive bids, that would be one of those bizarre situations and you might want to try formal recruitment again. You should go to your university's office of Greek Affairs or equivalent and discuss your options with the Greek Adviser.
