I made the same mistake! I worked with a Rho Chi on campus and asked her what sorority she was in and she very nicely explained what it meant. I was lucky to have worked with her prior to recruitment to learn so much about it going in - as it turned out, she was a Zeta! :D

Oh sweetie! Don't stress out about the Rho Chi thing! I was a Rho Gamma (recruitment guide) last year, and so many girls thought we were our own separate sorority that the Rho Gammas this year aren't allowed to wear the RG letters without recruitment guide being spelled out somewhere on the shirt too...oops :)

Thanks guys. I still blush when I think of that story and it doesn't help that I told my roommate (who knows everything) and she thought it was funny and likes reminding me of it all the time.

Honey, there are some retro threads that might make you feel better. There always seems to be a Greek Know-it-All in every story that either doesn't get a bid or drops out before Pref. More important than knowing the ropes is to be yourself and keep very open minded.

I have met girls from Meredith, Christina, and Callie so far. I have seen the girls from Izzie but have not met any.

I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, but I'll go ahead and root for Izzie since Katharine Heigl was funny in Knocked Up. Also, TinyDancer16 ended up at the chapter she named Izzie.:)

to reiterate what everyone else has said, do not feel bad or embarassed abut asking the recruitment counselors what sorority they were in-i'll just bet that you were not the only one asking that question!! and it is a perfectly legitimate question-why should you know that recruitment counselors disaffialiate from their own sororities and on some campus have special t-shirts made with rho chi or rho gamma on them? answer:you shouldn't!
